returns in the as-yet-untitled sequel, don’t expect to see the Enchantress. In an interview with
USA Today, Cara Delevingne — who played the first film’s major baddie — said that she’s “pretty sure” her character won’t be back.
“It was a life-changing experience and of course I’d do another one, but I don’t think it would make sense for the character,” Delevingne explained. Nevertheless, “I’ll probably still be on the set hanging out with everyone.”

Delevingne really played two characters in the DC Extended Universe film: June Moon and her alter ego the Enchantress. Because of an ancient curse, Moon could transform into the deadly Enchantress by speaking a phrase. Though powerful, Enchantress could be controlled by her heart, her only true weakness. Enchantress was able to steal her heart back from Amanda Waller in the film, which allowed her to wreak havoc across Midway City. The Suicide Squad was able to stop her reign of terror by destroying her heart, which freed Moon from the curse. Moon was then reunited with her lover Rick Flagg as the film ended.
Suicide Squad was slammed by both critics and fans alike, the film did go on to make $745 million worldwide, with an impressive $325 million alone stateside. Now that director David Ayer is working on Gotham City Sirens, the sequel will be written by The Legend of Tarzan screenwriter Adam Cozad.
Suicide Squad 2 does yet not have an official release date.
