Cults are having a moment right now. Between shows like
, it seems like the now-fading vampire genre has found a worthy, creepy successor.
“I never noticed that it was a thing! I guess it’s the zeitgeist now,” says Sarah Jones, who stars alongside Aaron Paul on
. “I guess the spiritual search for truth, which is the message at the root of most cults for better or worse, is something that a lot of people identify with and want a look at.”
Strangely enough, this isn’t actually Jones’ first cult-related acting gig. You might remember her from FX’s
where she played Polly Zobelle, the (spoiler alert!) ill-fated daughter of a white supremacist group leader. Here’s to hoping her character on
, Alison, doesn’t suffer a similar fate; we’ll find out more about her destiny when the show’s season finale airs next Wednesday.
In the meantime, we decided to challenge Jones to a good old fashioned game of “Would You Rather.”
I think I’d have to say no knees. I have a 15-month-old at home and I can’t imagine not holding her! I need those snuggles.
Would you rather listen to the same song every day or eat the same meal every day?
I’d eat the same meal every day. I’m going to cheat a bit and say it would be cereal and milk, because then I can switch up the kind of cereal every day. There are tons of cereals out there!
Would you rather have to sing everything you say or rhyme everything you say?
Rhyme everything or sing everything? I think I’d rather rhyme. You’ll really have to think through everything that you say before you say it. A lot of thought would go into everything and I might get a chance to rethink things before they come out of my mouth.
Would you rather give up alcohol for a year or your phone for a month?
Oh god, my phone for a month. Yeah. For sure. If people can still reach me on email on a computer, it’s fine. I hate how accessible we are now. I need my beer, not my phone!
Oh wow, that’s hard. I think I’ll have to go with breathing underwater. My husband is an avid surfer and I’m hesitant to start learning because of having to hold your breath underwater. It’s such a workout! If I could do it naturally, it’d be no problem! I also went really dark thinking about flying and what an easy target I’d be up in the sky.
Would you rather repeat four years of high school classes right now or go back in time and relive them?
Oh god, take all the classes right now. I wouldn’t go back to high school if you paid me. I mean, it would have to be a lot of money!
