Rose thought she was trapped so, she thought killing her self would be easier but then jack came and changed everything. He changed her mind about suicide. But, then it was time for dinner and jack got all fancy and Rose was probably like 'wow, look at him! '.She met him at the clock and then jack said ' So, you want to go to a real party and they ended up in 3rd class. Jack was trying to change her. He wanted her to stop being so serious!
