I don't think it has anything to do with one gender being better, or another... more like, it comes down to the person and who they are, not what gender they happen to be.
Because men are supposed to lead women. No, not rule over them; not to boss them around like they're the king, to lead them.
To walk beside them; to work as a team. Man and woman is meant to be a team, and man is meant to be the team leader.

Well I am an Atheist but I did go to a Christian school for five years. Well the jist of the story is that Adam was lonely so "God" created a partner for him from Adam's rib.
She was made for love and support, to meet his needs. "It is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helpmate." That's why women were created. He did not only make her for support but to be his friend and to be equal. He is to lead, and she will support him.
well. when god created man, he modeled him after himself, being that he was the only creation made, he made a man and soon after decided that the man was lonley and obviously needed to mate so he made another human.
Even before humans were created god created animals, which i suppose to have been both male and females, so he knew that he would create both, he just made on before and one after.
