I need some advice, Please only give sensible answers guys :) Xx

Hey thanks for clicking :)
I'm posting this question here because I need an answer quickly and some other pages aren't checked regularly like this one. And I know people on the Random page tend to be nice :)

I need some advice: I have really urgent homework I need to be done by Tuesday; to complete the rest of the whole of an art portfolio including all the analysis and write-ups.
It's really important, but I have a problem: the place where I do my homework is in the front room, there is no where else I can do it for different reasons. BUT, I can't do my homework with my parents' RIDICULOUS television addiction. They won't turn it off- it's been on solidly since 9am and it's now nearly 7pm where I am. TV is more important to them than my homework. A couple of time I've slept during the day so I can do my homework during the night instead, when they're asleep and the TV is FINALLY off. Obviously, I shouldn't be forced into that. My parents say I should do my homework in my room but there's nowhere to do it there, and I work better in the living room. They don't compromise at all. So I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me. Thanks guyss :) <3 Xx

Sorry it's long and I understand this is probably not the kind of question you've seen befor, considering the roles of the parents and teenager are pretty messed up here :( xx

I would run to the tv turn it off take the remote and yell at them saying how inconsiderate they are and tell them they NEED to get over this tv addiction and if they dont whant you to do good in school you are gonna move out (harsh but that is what i would do)

Why can't your room be used as a place for you to do your homework? Is it because you feel more comfortable in the living room or is another reason?
Try to compromise with your parents. Tell them to turn down the TV so that you can at least concentrate. If that doesn't work, figure out a way to tune out the world surrounding you by listening to music or something. Try to get into a trance-like state where even the loudest of noises doesn't disrupt you.
If that doesn't work, simply figure out another place to do your work. You may see the living room as the ideal option, but there are probably many other places to do your work as well. Find that place and work there then. It could be anywhere, really.
Your parents SHOULD care about your homework. Parents taking an interest in a child's work is a plus and gives the student confidence to do well in school.
I hope this advice offers at least some help and comfort.

OK. I might not be helpful, but this is what I would do. While they arent looking, turn it off and hide the remote. You have to win.

Try these, if you can:

-Nicely explain to your parents how important your homework is to you, your grades, and your future
-Turn your back to the TV or sit where you can't see the screen
-Ask your parents to turn the volume down
-Listen to music to block it out
