Guy trouble!

so there is this really hot guy and I saw him somewhere and then I asked him on facebook if he was there and he said 'yeah why ?' and i just said 'oh my friend thought she knew you' and no one said anything after that. He is friends with my friend and he told her that i was randomly talking to him and he thinks I'm weird. What can I do or say to make sure he doesn't think I'm weird. Also sorry, I have bad spelling and grammar
