O that's easy!! Trust me ima 7th grader in freshmen math

U graph both the lines..by..(the first one) putting a dot on the y axis at -3, and the slope is -4 so u go down 4 and to the right one.

The 2nd one u graph by putting a dot at the 4 on the y axis, and the slope is 3, so u go up 3 and to the right one..

(Make sure u add mor on the lines)

Then were the 2 lines intersect that is ur answer
( if u graph rite)

You have to graph the equation. Caculators don't have that option.

okay its acutally pretty simple all you do is make two colums X and Y for X pick out any number you want the easiest are o,1,and 2 then plug those numbers into the equation and solve for y
for example for the first one if you pick 1 for x then it would be y=4(1)-3 which is 1 so you graph the point (1,1) (for each equation pick at least 3 numbers) y is the vertile axis and x is horizontal

hope that helps if you need more help just let me know

okay correction ignore the way i solved it i didn't see the -4 so the points are wrong but the theory is still right

wisegurl's method also works so whichever one is easier for you

how do you get -7 4x1=4 4-3=1 so if x was 1 y would also be 1
jedigal1990 posted over a year ago

oh i thought it was -4.

So I see that someone else here has already explained how to do it, but I thought i'd give you another resource.

wolframalpha.com

This is a math website. You type in your problem, and then you hit the answer button. It will answer your question, and then I think that if you want, you can choose to see the steps as to how they solved the problem, which is quite handy in showing you how to do it.
Also, if you plug in an equation, like the ones above, it'll graph it for you and show you it's different forms, and it'll do stuff like that for all the problems.
Hope this helps!
