Who is your favorite (female) protagonist that travels with Ash?

I've enjoyed all four they all brought something different to the anime and they made it interesting in their own ways but considering Iris is my all time favorite Pokemon character..she is my choice here!

My favorite is May.

My personal favorite would be Hikari~Chan / Dawn from the Diamond and Pearl series.She is funny and sweet and super pretty~!Haruka/May was a close second and Misty was sometimes a jerk with the bug pokemon..

This is extremely close but, I will tie Misty & May for 1st. and Dawn at a close 2nd. Iris well 3rd. At least Iris was in the top 3 (well because 1st. is a tie and I wanted a second place and not skip it)
