Chasing Fireflies
Elusive dreams
This pre-life crisis, is killing me
A beautiful tragedy
Who I was wasn't me

You make it easier to be
Easier to be me
It's hard to believe
You make it easy

Speaking silence
Words can break
It feels like we are falling awake
In a place, in a time of our own

You make it easier to be
Easier to be me
It's hard to believe

It felt like the world
Fell from my feet
Gave up on myself
You didn't give up on me
Let myself go
You were still there
Like coming home
Coming up for air

You make it easier to be
Easier to be me
It's hard to believe
You make it easy
Easier to be
To be me

To the dearest, fairest woman
Who sets my heart ablaze with light,
To the angel, the immortal idol,
Greetings in immortality !

She permeates my life
Like air impregnated with salt
And into my unsated soul
Pours the taste for the eternal.

Sachet, ever fresh, that perfumes
The atmosphere of a dear nook,
Forgotten censer smoldering
Secretly through the night,

Everlasting love, how can I
Describe you truthfully?
Grain of musk that lies unseen
In the depths of my eternity !

To the dearest, fairest woman
Who is my health and my delight
To the angel, the immortal idol,
Greetings in immortality !

How I Really Feel About You

I hate putting up with this act.

I can't stand it anymore.

I have to tell you how I really feel.

I don't know if you will like it

but here it goes:

I HATE you, I don't EVER want to see you again.

I hate that you think I will do anything for you

because you still think I like you.

I like someone new and I know that they

will treat me better than you ever did.

That is how I really feel about you, and I

knew that you wouldn't like it, but you know what

I DON'T CARE!

On my school notebooks
On my desk and on the trees
On the sands of snow
I write your name

On the pages I have read
On all the white pages
Stone, blood, paper or ash
I write your name

On the images of gold
On the weapons of the warriors
On the crown of the king
I write your name

On the jungle and the desert
On the nest and on the brier
On the echo of my childhood
I write your name

On all my scarves of blue
On the moist sunlit swamps
On the living lake of moonlight
I write your name

On the fields, on the horizon
On the birds’ wings
And on the mill of shadows
I write your name

On each whiff of daybreak
On the sea, on...

Hole In My Soul
by
Jeremy Gould

The sun rose up with me today
and I can't help feeling this way
but every day brings me down
and there's stillness all around
I've got to get away from the pain
so I try a stroll down memory lane

Yep, I still remember you
How could I forget?
You thought I'd lost you, I bet

But you were the first
The first to hold me tight
The first to kiss me goodnight

Now there's nothing left
but this hole in my soul
that reminds me of what I've lost
Somehow I've got to replace
the emptiness that once was full
But what price do I pay, what cost?

The loneliness surrounding me
leaves me feeling less valuable
By the hour, by the minute
my livelihood slowly slips
As I watch it float away
I don't even try to stop it

I can't replace what you've done
so there's one solution, only one
I have to let you go
But there's one thing you should know

No matter where you are
No matter what you do
I'll always have this hole in my soul
to help remind me of you

Diamonds
For
Tears

Why in these days of manmade wonders we still bicker over flies?
When you come seeking for forgiveness, I'll be forced to choose my side?

If I deny you what you're searching, do I do it out of fear?
Am I ruling out my reason, killing that which I hold dear?

Out of my way I'm coming, with an excuse just underway
Reality's so daunting, and I've got no way to explain

Cos when you're sound asleep next to me, I know you're the one
So when I hear you calling my name, why do I turn away and run
I guess that's why it's raining diamonds, sweet happiness in tears
Crying heaven shed your diamonds,...

In the solemn shades of those art angelic clouds,
my airy spirit grows so light a true of hearts, and by your unnameable beauty with all inspirational grace, my silent thoughts of it my words to sweeten, in honey breath composed, that breathes in vows of love.

That blessed realm, that overspreads the earth,
came thundering down upon me from heavens fiery eyes, shining solely through the unstained window of your breast with the sacred radiance of that divining light, overlooking the flowery hills, green meadows and glassy streams, to bower natures art, as love has come to harvest.

Upon your virgin...

Nature is a temple in which living pillars
Sometimes give voice to confused words;
Man passes there through forests of symbols
Which look at him with understanding eyes.

Like prolonged echoes mingling in the distance
In a deep and tenebrous unity,
Vast as the dark of night and as the light of day,
Perfumes, sounds, and colors correspond.

There are perfumes as cool as the flesh of children,
Sweet as oboes, green as meadows
— And others are corrupt, and rich, triumphant,

With power to expand into infinity,
Like amber and incense, musk, benzoin,
That sing the ecstasy of the soul and senses.

I Give You These Verses So That If My Name

I give you these verses so that if my name,
A vessel favored by a strong north wind,
Fortunately reaches the distant future's shore,
And some night sets the minds of men to dreaming,

Your memory, like fables shrouded in the past,
Will weary the reader like a dulcimer,
And by a mystical, brotherly bond
Remain suspended from my haughty verse;

Accurst being to whom, from the deep abysm
To the highest heaven, nothing responds, save me!
— O you who, like an ephemeral ghost,

Trample lightly and with a serene look
Upon the dull mortals who found you repugnant,
Jet eyed statue, tall angel with a brow of bronze!

The Clock

Impassive clock! Terrifying, sinister god,
Whose finger threatens us and says: "Remember!
The quivering Sorrows will soon be shot
Into your fearful heart, as into a target;

Nebulous pleasure will flee toward the horizon
Like an actress who disappears into the wings;
Every instant devours a piece of the pleasure
Granted to every man for his entire season.

Three thousand six hundred times an hour, Second
Whispers: Remember! — Immediately
With his insect voice, Now says: I am the Past
And I have sucked out your life with my filthy trunk!

Remember! Souviens-toi, spendthrift! Esto memor!

SERENADE

So sweet the hour, so calm the time,
I feel it more than half a crime,
When Nature sleeps and stars are mute,
To mar the silence ev'n with lute.
At rest on ocean's brilliant dyes
An image of Elysium lies
Seven Pleiades entranced in Heaven,
Form in the deep another seven:
Endymion nodding from above
Sees in the sea a second love.
Within the valleys dim and brown,
And on the spectral mountain's crown,
The wearied light is dying down,
And earth, and stars, and sea, and sky
Are redolent of sleep, as I
Am redolent of thee and thine
Enthralling love, my Adeline.
But list, O list, so soft and low
Thy lover's voice tonight shall flow,
That, scarce awake, thy soul shall deem
My words the music of a dream.
Thus, while no single sound too rude
Upon thy slumber shall intrude,
Our thoughts, our souls O God above!
In every deed shall mingle, love.

ROMANCE

Romance, who loves to nod and sing,
With drowsy head and folded wing,
Among the green leaves as they shake
Far down within some shadowy lake,
To me a painted paroquet
Hath been a most familiar bird
Taught me my alphabet to say
To lisp my very earliest word
While in the wild wood I did lie,
A child- with a most knowing eye.

Of late, eternal Condor years
So shake the very Heaven on high
With tumult as they thunder by,
I have no time for idle cares
Through gazing on the unquiet sky.
And when an hour with calmer wings
Its down upon my spirit flings
That little time with lyre and rhyme
To while away- forbidden things !
My heart would feel to be a crime
Unless it trembled with the strings.
This three poems were writen a while ago.... Well, almost three years ago! Not that good:S But I will still post them! They are a bit small, that's why I'm putting them in an article!

Why we love!

Isn't it love, to forget
Everything we ever knew?
Isn't it love, to hear the birds sing
And think we understand them?
Isn't it love, to look at a desert field
And see it covered in flowers?

They tell me, they do not know
Why they love who they love!
However, I know...
They love because
They seek emotion,
They love because
they search a reason to live,
They love because
They only know how to love!

So they weep...

So... this is the first time I post my poems here (I just found this spot:) But I'll post them and see what you think:) This poem was made for a friend of mine here... For her story! Hope you all like it:)

I’m lost in the remains of our love,
Trying to find a way to get out of
This dark place, looking for a light…

I’m travelling through my memories,
Searching in the good moments for a
Clue that this bad moment would come.

But in the sparkling memories I only
Find what I thought was love…
It was heaven with an angel only
For me, and now it’s hell without a
Way out… I want a sun to guide...

Eldorado

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search for Eldorado.

But he grew old –
This knight so bold –
And o’er his heart a shadow
Fell, as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado

And, as his strength
Failed at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow –
“Shadow,” said he ,
“Where can it be, -
This land of Eldorado?”

“Over the Mountains
Of the moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride , boldly ride,”
The shade replied,
“If you seek for Eldorado!”

Love is enough: though the world be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the skies be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder,
And this day draw a veil over all deeds passed over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter:
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

O ends of autumn, winters, springtimes drenched with mud,
Seasons that lull to sleep! I love you, I praise you
For enfolding my heart and mind thus
In a misty shroud and a filmy tomb.

On that vast plain where the cold south wind plays,
Where in the long, dark nights the weather-cock grows hoarse,
My soul spreads wide its raven wings
More easily than in the warm springtide.

Nothing is sweeter to a gloomy heart
On which the hoar-frost has long been falling,
Than the permanent aspect of your pale shadows,

O wan seasons, queens of our clime
— Unless it be to deaden suffering, side by side
In a casual bed,...
