~ 2 of my favorite love poems ~
WHEN YOU ARE OLD
by William Butler Yeats
When you are old and gray and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire, take down this book
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars murmur, a little sadly, how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead and hid his face among a crowd of stars.
LOVESONG by Ted Hughes
He loved her and she loved him. / His kisses sucked out her whole past and future or tried to
He had no other appetite / She bit him she gnawed him she sucked
She wanted him complete inside her / Safe and sure forever and ever
Their little cries fluttered into the curtains
Her eyes wanted nothing to get away / Her looks nailed down his hands his wrists his elbows
He gripped her hard so that life / Should not drag her from that moment
He wanted all future to cease / He wanted to topple with his arms round her
Off that moment's brink and into nothing / Or everlasting or whatever there was
Her embrace was an immense press / To print him into her bones
His smiles were the garrets of a fairy palace / Where the real world would never come
Her smiles were spider bites / So he would lie still till she felt hungry
His words were occupying armies / Her laughs were an assassin's attempts
His looks were bullets daggers of revenge / His glances were ghosts in the corner with horrible secrets
His whispers were whips and jackboots / Her kisses were lawyers steadily writing
His caresses were the last hooks of a castaway / Her love-tricks were the grinding of locks
And their deep cries crawled over the floors / Like an animal dragging a great trap
His promises were the surgeon's gag / Her promises took the top off his skull
She would get a brooch made of it / His vows pulled out all her sinews
He showed her how to make a love-knot / Her vows put his eyes in formalin
At the back of her secret drawer / Their screams stuck in the wall
Their heads fell apart into sleep like the two halves / Of a lopped melon, but love is hard to stop
In their entwined sleep they exchanged arms and legs / In their dreams their brains took each other hostage
In the morning they wore each other's face.

why did you cheat on me?
why did I deserve that?
I loved you so much, I still do,
and if you asked for me back,
I would probably come.
that's because I love you,
and you've got a hold on me,
why did I have to see you,
with another girl in your arms,
your a cheat that's all I can say!!
I loved you and you just threw it away,
but that's it im done with you now,
im not trying anymore,
I could of been the best thing you ever had,
you don't know what you have got until you loose it,
your a cheat and that's all I can say,
now its time for me to go my own way.

I move a hundred steps
to fix my pace
but all your love
inflicts my grace
falling
running
trying to get clean
but the confort
your love
it captures me
I move behind the lines
to hide from the new
to hide from from addiction
to hide from you
falling
running
trying to hide
but the meledy
the sound
it drags me back
I move between the beats
to cover my sins
but everytime your near me
The bottle of gin slowly didapears
falling
falling
sweeter than life
your love is a drug
your love is my high
to fix my pace
but all your love
inflicts my grace
falling
running
trying to get clean
but the confort
your love
it captures me
I move behind the lines
to hide from the new
to hide from from addiction
to hide from you

As life flutters by on Angel's wings
The wind whips my hair as I ride through the desolite night sky
My heart leaps with joy, and drowns wih sorrow
I'm falling down... farther into the abyss
I grab on to a passing Angel's wings
It's my Angel
I stil fall
Unable to let go of My Angel
My Angel, He's broken
Drowning his sorrows in pain
His pain in sorrows
He has seen this unperfect world
Wanting to fix it, trying to fix it
It crushed his soul, broke his spirit
I have seen this world as he has seen it
It broke me too
And we plumet together
Streatched to our braking points
As life fluters by on Angel's wings
The wind whips my hair as I ride through the desolite night sky
My heart leaps with joy, and drowns wih sorrow
I'm falling down... farther into the abyss
I grab on to a passing Angel's wings
It's my Angel

My Angel, He's broken
Drowning his sorrows in pain
His pain in sorrows

Whitman
I have perceiv’d that to be
With those i like is enough,
To stop in company with the rest
At evening is enough,
To be surrounded by beautiful,
Curious, breathing,
Laughing flesh is enough…
I do not ask any more delight,
I swim in it as in a sea.
There is something in staying close
To men and women and looking on them,
And in the contact and odor of them,
That pleases the soul well,
All things please the soul,
But these please the soul well.

Live high, live mighty, live righteously, taking it easy [Jason Mraz]
Smile wider, look closer, and think broader [Blend Apparel]

describes him best.
Dark,
just like his world is.
Dark,
just like his eyes.
And yet,
you should take a good look
before you touch it.
You may be hurt
if you don’t watch closely.
Rose is so gentle,
isn’t it?
So be careful,
you might be hurt.
Careful what you wish,
think twice first.
The petals are so soft
and sensitive,
you should know what
you’re indulge.
The black rose is apart,
she’s unique,
just like he is...
Nobody can see
the world he created.
He’s fearless,
but he feels.
He’s cold,
but he listens.
He’s mysterious,
but caring.
He understands,
but no longer cares.
He’s empty,
but awake.
He’s lonely,
but he knows...
Without a goal
you don’t live,
you just watch
your life fading,
without love
you’re so empty,
without understanding,
you’re still there,
in the world of your own.
Raised by wild animals
People just never quite understand
He maybe different
But he saved me from a lion.
He is not a savage
He's sweet and curious about the human world
As I wonder,"Does he love me? Does he know what love is?"
My friends and ex-fiance' just can't see
What a wonderful man he is.
Brave, strong, and kind
Also, very attractive!
The jungle so beautiful and free
As he swings on vines, holding me
His loud, victorious yell
As he yells after fighting a mean animal
Or just proud of his jungle.
His muscular, warm, tan skin
Feels so smooth and beautiful
Against my head, as I listen to his heartbeat.
His amber eyes stare into mine
As I touch his shaggy, shoulder length black hair
If he ever gets hurt
I help him doctor his wounds.
We dream of each other, as we both fall into a slumber, as the sun starts to set slowly.
People just never quite understand
He maybe different
But he saved me from a lion.
He is not a savage
He's sweet and curious about the human world
As I wonder,"Does he love me? Does he know what love is?"

Poem About Criss Angel:
Your illusions make me nervous sometimes
Dangerous emotions in your soul
You always push the envelope
Very dangerous and attractive
You have never scared me
Wee little girls scream in fear when you remove quarters from your arm using a knife, or cutting yourself in half
I don't scream
I marvel in the beauty
I know you will survive
I can tell in your hypnotizing amber eyes
Beautiful inside and out
Children look up to you
You're generosity towards the less fortunate are so sweet
Your imagination is wild and amazing
You amaze me
I hate that others can't see
What a great person you really are
I know how you feel
I am too very dark and mysterious
So everyday I feel brave and creative
Because you inspire me
Your illusions make me nervous sometimes
Dangerous emotions in your soul
You always push the envelope
Very dangerous and attractive

You devastate this land of mine,
Where breeze used to touch the rose petals.
On this field of my innosence
You took away the cloudy days,
On this desolated field no rain will fall,
No sun will shine,
Those soft petals are dry now
On this field of mine.
But yours,
You grow your Oleander and Ivy,
Your poisonous land as your twisted mind,
You stole water to dry mine,
I see your Oleander now,
Beautiful and gentle as my rose is never going to be,
Poisonous but never meant to cure me.
Where breeze used to touch the rose petals.
On this field of my innosence
You took away the cloudy days,
On this desolated field no rain will fall,

A woman's life is a rose.
Each petal containing a portion of life.
The diligent journey wil be perfect.
As you live, your rose grows weaker.
Your enduring patience has been spent; your rose is wilting.
The many years yearning for unity has ceased.
The whispering kingdom is worth all yor strength.
God will welcome you with kindly eyes.
Your sacred rose will live on.
A woman's life is a rose.
