Percy Jackson & The Olympians Books  best answer

ChocoLuvr101 said:
Yes. Very much.
Here's things I found wrong with the movie:
1. Percy looks 16 in the movie and we all know that him being 16 plays a big part in the story.
2. Annabeth isn't blonde!
3. They weren't supposed to sneak out of camp!
4. What the hell happened to the Oracle?
5. Where the hell were Dionysus and Ares?
6. What about Luke's scar?
7. Percy wasn't supposed to know who his father was immediately.
8. The cabin designs.
9. Where was Thalia in pine tree form?
10. Annabeth wasn't supposed to be Percy's opponent in capture the flag.
11. They weren't supposed to hunt for the pearls.
12. Instead of meeting the hydra, they should've met Echina and her Chimera at the Arc!
14. Last time I checked, the entrance to the Underworld wasn't at the Hollywood sign.
15. The shoes didn't almost drag Grover down to Tartarus.
16. They made it look like Luke was working on his own, where the hell was Kronos put into the conversation?
17. Why did they already meet Persephone?
18. What about Annabeth's cap?
19. At the museum, Grover and Chiron weren't supposed to burst in. Chiron gave Percy Riptide and he killed the Fury.
20. What? No exploding bus scene?
21. No Fates?
22. Where was the dude who tried to stretch Grover and Annabeth to death!?
23. Last time I checked, the River of Styx wasn't floating in mid air and made of discarded items.
24. Why were all the gods and godesses assembled in the throne room at Olympus?

So when they release the Sea of Monsters movie, it better be worth my money or the studio might as well expect some very pissed off PJO fans.
Alright, rant over.

I was so disappointed with the movie. I don't think disappointed is the right word...It's more like infuriated with. They made so many mistakes and changed the whole plot. They don't hunt for the pearls, the pearls were given to Percy. I vaguely recall Persephone actually being in the book. Yes, she was there, but she had a minimal part. It wasn't huge. Yes, Luke was a huge part of the plot but he didn't steal the bolt. That was Ares' job. Luke didn't steal it. He just tried to sabotage Percy's quest. There were also several minor details that really did annoy me. Ex. Annabeth's hair, no Mr. D., the setting of Camp Half Blood, the age of the actors etc. All in all, I was so infuriated with the movie.

When I first saw the movie I thought it was really good then I wanted to read the book and I found that it didn't even follow the story line or anything. So without the book it was good but is you've read it like I did, it wasn't so great.

Yeah! Movie was terrible in my opinion T .T
1. No one was supposed to know who Percy's father was yet... He was supposed to find out in Capture the Flag.
2. He was offered a quest to leave camp for a lightning bolt, he didn't go on a rogue mission for his mom. But he wanted to save her as well.
3. Grover's too horney! Not awkward enough. x.x
4. Annabeth isn't blonde, and she's robotic. x.x
5. They're all too old, not supposed to be able to drive...

and tons more x.x

You are so right some of the things I noticed was that the gods were all in acient clothing and in the book it says the dress like normal people. And percy went alone to olympus. And only Zeus and Posiedon were in the throne room plus he went to olympus because of the elevator.

The movie was terrible compared to the book, but the movie is what wanted me to read the series because i saw the movie first. They screwed it up big time and other people have already pointed out its many flaws, but one thing that really bugged me that hasn't been said yet was the beginning when Percy is in the swimming pool and Grover is timing how long he can hold his breath, but shouldn't he be able to breathe underwater??? But I am really nervous for The Sea of Monsters to come out...

i actually loved the movie. i think some of the changes they made were very good, a couple of them were bad. they best change i thought they made was the age. making them 17, was a great idea. it expanding the things the characters could do. i thought the casting was excellent. Logan lerman is absolutely perfect for percy. Brandon t. jackson did a great job, he was absolutely hilarous. Alexandra Daddario did an amazing job. I actually think her brown hair suits annabeth much better. i loved the percy and annabeth romance scenes, they were done very well. The grover and percy friendship was also shown very well. Another change i thought was good was the pearls, how they had to find them, it makes more sense than the way it was done in the book.the thing i wish they added was some information about thaila and kronos. but they can easily add that to the sea of monsters movie.

It was a good movie but compared to the book, no it wasn't the best. But it didn't suck. Everyone says it sucked but it didn't. It just didn't follow the book; that doesn't make it sucky. I agree that they could have added the right scenes in, but I thought it was a good movie on its own.

yeah. In comparism to the books the movie was totally off-putting. but regarding the film as a single entity, it was cool. My opinion is based on the fact that i watched the movie before the book so i have an objective perspective of the two. There where so many parts that were cut off from the movie. Maybe this was done because of the uncertainty concerning whether the movie was going to have a sequel. so now that its going to have a sequel it begs different questions.
1. How will Kronos be introduced?
2. If luke was indeed caught, what vessel will kronos be using?
3. Who will have access to the camp in other to poison (ummm....... what tree?).
4. i believe i saw a tree in the movie but it wasn,t depicted as being important.
5. How will annabeth's relationship with percy continue to develop if it already has?
6. Will annabeth's crush on luke be totally removed?
7. Who will corral kronos army until he rises?
8. Which half-blood will try to convince other half-bloods to join kronos?
9. How about CLARISSE? (Who the hell will lead the second quest?(if its a quest anyway and not some mission they have to sneak out to do)).
10. And one of the main questions will there be a great prophecy(i ask this because; they haven't shown an oracle, the prophecy says the child of the big three to reach 16 will play a part in the raising or the razing of olympus. call me crazy but i think percy in the movie already looks sixteen years so ummmm... when the prophecy happens he will be all of like what? 20. puh-lease).
These and many more questions will have to be answered in the next movie
