Kowalski, Ivy, and Private ran frantically into the lab. Kowalski ran and locked all possible exits. Johnson, Rico, Skipper, and Ru didn't even bother trying to get in. They were ready to fight.
Ivy flopped down on the floor, gasping for breath. Private held her flipper and asked her what was wrong. Ivy just moaned.
The penguins watched as the lab door slammed shut and locked. Rica slowly walked forward, still bouncing the bat.
"Just wait till she finally get's a piece of us," Skipper said, getting into the fighting position.
Rico and Johnson did the same without the talking. Ru slinked back. She hated fights, and always did everything she could to avoid them.
Rica jumped forward and swung the bat, but missed as Rico and Skipper dived away. Ru tried to sneak up behind Rica and use Urka's strategy of calming her. Ru raised her flipper, but Rica turned around and knocked her sister unconscious.
Rico gasped. He 'cracked his knuckles' and walked at Rica. She swung at him, but missed and hit the wall. Johnson, trying to sneak out, just ducked her blow.
Rica turned and clonked on the head, on the stomach, and used the bat to violently push him down. He fell and his eyes seemed to go crazy, and then blank before he closed them.
Ivy buried her face in her flipper, and bawled. Private patted her back, and Kowalski sat down with them. Again, they asked what was wrong. Ivy looked up with tear-stung eyes. She gave a short smile, knowing they cared, but covered it with more tears. She got up and sat down at the workbench. They boys moved over to her, again trying to comfort her.
Ivy pushed Kowalski back. Private tried to talk to her, but she pushed him away and continued.
The boys exchanged glances. Ivy had never acted like this. It was a first for both of them.
Banging noises outside continued. Ivy turned, wet eyes and a small smile.
Outside, Skipper hollered something non understandable, and Rica hit him with the bat in the head. She smiled, evilly, and turned to the still standing penguin. Rico hesitated and got his own bat.
Rica seemed stunned, but got over it.
"Rico, come home. We all need you," Rica smirked.
"I can't, and ya cahnt make meh!" Rico said.
"Your opinion, but I will get you. Urka will be so happy."
"No she won't!"
Rico unexpectedly jumped over to Rica and slammed the bat beside her.
"Armalarba farbalae!" he cried, almost loosing it. Rica screamed and lost control of her feet for a minute.
After a quick sentance of, "Skipper's out," Ivy turned back to the table. Kowalski slammed in front of her.
"Tell us what's wrong! We won't tell if you don't want us to!" he said, sounding like a child.
"Don't you trust us?" Private asked.
Ivy hesitated slowly, and wiped her tears away. Kowalski put the lose feathers out of her eyes. They looked at each other kindly.
"Tell us."
"I'm... I'm... I'm..." Ivy couldn't say it, so she broke the conversation and kissed Kowalski.
Private smiled. If his sister was happy, he was.
Ivy and Kowalski looked at each other again. It seemed as if all had just changed. Ivy looked down and patted her rounding stomach.
"Guess," she said.
"Stomach ache?" Kowalski asked. Ivy shook her head.
Private realized. "No way!" he exclaimed.
Ivy burst back into tears.
Suddenly the door burst open after being hit to many times. Rico ran in, followed by Rica. Rica looked at the lovebirds and knocked them each out, along with Private. Rico snuck up from behind Rica.
Rico tackled her, and they both dropped their bats. He got a bazooka, and loosing it, aimed it at Rica. Rica screamed, and told him to stop. Then she sang the lullaby.
