So one day I got this idea: What if the penguins had to deal with problems that were completely opposite theirs? That's what gave rise to this story. Read and enjoy!

THE REVERSE WORLD
It was a beautiful sunny day and Private decided to take advantage of the weather to go out for a walk.
"It's a great day for a walk now," he said, strolling about slowly in the park, "the weather's all sunny and bright..."
Then his foot caught on something big and he fell over. He picked himself up and stared at the shiny object that had caused his fall.
"What's this?" he wondered, picking it up and studying it, "It's a mirror! I hope it isn't broken. I don't want seven years of bad luck!"
He checked the mirror for cracks. There were none that he could see. "Hm, looks ok," he was apparently satisfied, "I know! I'll take it back to HQ!"
With the mirror under his flipper, he ran off towards Central Park Zoo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Skipper! Kowalski! Rico!"
Skipper looked up from his coffee. "What is it, Private?"
"Look at what I found at the park!" Said Private, holding out the mirror out. The others checked it out.
"It's... a mirror," said Skipper.
"Where did you find it?" Kowalski asked.
"Under a big tree," answered Private, putting the mirror down, "I tripped over it."
Rico tapped the mirror's surface out of curiosity. To his surprise, the glass surface rippled like it was made out of mercury. Skipper slapped his flipper away.
"Don't touch it!" he ordered, "We still don't know what it is."
"Skipper, it's just a mirror," said Kowalski.
"You've failed to see the danger in this metallic... thing, Kowalski!" Skipper objected, "Didn't you see how it rippled when Rico touched it? It could be something Dr. Blowhole invented to capture us all! Curiosity kills the cat, they say."
Private had an idea. "Skipper, could this mirror be a portal to another world?"
Kowalski was immediately on the topic. "Impossible! Science does not allow the existence of such a portal. Besides, if it was a portal, there won't be another world for it to lead to! And..."
"Well, considering what Rico is doing now," Skipper interrupted, staring at Rico, " you may have to change your mind a little..."
"What?" Kowalski turned to see Rico half-sticking out of the mirror.
"Whoa!" Rico was exclaiming. Kowalski admitted defeat.
"Ok, it is a portal," he agreed.
"If it is a portal..." Private piped up, " what's it like on the other side?"
Skipper pulled Rico out of the mirror.
"There's only one way to find out," he announced, "Question is, will we ever be back?"
Kowalski did a few scribbles on is clipboard. "The thing is, Skipper, portals have always been reported to work two ways. If you went in from here, there's always that same way out."
"Touché," said Skipper, "But just to make sure... Rico, gimme a boomerang!"
"Ok!" Rico hacked up a boomerang and handed it to Skipper.
"Here goes!" Skipper reeled back and tossed the boomerang as hard as he could into the mirror. It disappeared ito the glassy surface.
"It's confirmed, that's a portal," Kowalski remarked.
A minute later, the boomerang came zooming out of the portal. It hit Private on the head.
"Ow!" Private cried, falling over. Kowalski ran over and helped him up.
"Well, what did you know," said Skipper, "It actually came back!"
"And hit me on the head..." added Private.
"It came back," Kowalski noted, " That means the mirror portal is safe. Should we investigate it, Skipper?"
"Permission granted," Skipper agreed, tossing his coffee mug away, " Let's roll!"
The four penguins walked into the portal...
“Boss,” called a lobster minion as he approached the villainous dolphin, Dr. Blowhole. “Boss, we’re—ready when you are,” he said uneasily.
Dr. Blowhole grinned coldly and turned to him with a burning eye. “Excellent, Red One. Prepare the operating table,” he purred.
The lobster swallowed and nodded, exiting without another word.
Blowhole looked back into the mirror, looking at the bandages around his right eye, his grin fading...
Author's Note: Finally, a homework assignment I WANT to do! My English teacher told us that we had to write a "frame story," or a story about someone telling a story. She said it could be any genre, and about anything we wanted (as long as it's school appropriate, of course). Naturally, I took the opportunity to write this. I was actually planning on making it a Denmark story when I first thought of it, but then my brain said, "LOL, nope." Anywho, I hope you enjoy reading my homework assignment as much as I enjoyed making it! LOL, that sounds weird.
“It’s a dolphin!” exclaimed Private.
Leroy frowned in concern. “She looks like she’s hurt,” he observed. ‘And familiar too,’ he thought to himself.
Skipper immediately took charge. “Kowalski, Rico!”
The two penguins jumped to attention. “Ready to receive orders, sir,” said Kowalski.
“Uh huh,” agreed Rico.
Skipper nodded. “Swim outside and get the civilian in the sub. Private?”
Private turned to look at his leader, tearing his gaze away from the unconscious dolphin. “Yes, Skipper?”
“Go and get the first aid kit in case we need it,” ordered Skipper.
    When Tom had first met Danica, she seemed to be the nicest woman in the world. Well, he quickly figured out that she was only sweet when she was either in a good mood, or when she wasn’t working.
    “Come on, Private! Keep up!” Danica said jogging a few feet ahead of him. He’d been there for three weeks now and Danica had been training him since he’d been taken there. She told him it was to make him stronger. Each day was something spontaneous. Whether it was jogging, or push-ups, or chin-ups, or whatever else Danica could come up with for...
    “I’m sorry, little guy. Did that mean man come in here and take you away?” Lorrie asked Kowalski as she set him back in his cage. Kowalski hopped around a little.
    “No, I went exploring! You should’ve seen me! I opened the door all on my own and everything!” Kowalski told her excitedly. Lorrie sighed.
    “I’m sorry Preston works for those horrible people. I’m glad you don’t understand what’s going on. I would hate for you to realize how cruel the world is,” Lorrie said as her eyes went dark. Kowalski sighed....
    It was a long ride to wherever they were going. The snowmobile moved at a great speed, a speed that Tom had never experienced before. It would have been invigorating if he hadn’t had the attack on his mind.
    The fact that his friends and family were all dead hit him the hardest the farther away they moved from the village. He had no family. They were all dead.
    He even found himself missing his parents. Despite the fact that they’d lied to him about his hatching and tried to keep him away from his best friend. He felt horrible...
    “Okay, Thomas, just drink this,” Dr. Mavis instructed holding a spoon full of a clear liquid to Tom’s beak. Tom—too weak to object—obeyed. As soon as the liquid hit his taste buds, he gagged and Mavis held his beak shut to make him swallow.
    “I’m sorry, Thomas. I know it doesn’t taste like a red herring, but it’s important that you take it so it keeps up your metabolism,” Mavis explained.
    Tom nodded in understanding and took a sip of water, forcing himself to keep it down.
    “Dr....
