, Nina is in talks to star alongside Ellen Page and Diego Luna in Sony’s reboot of

. The 1990 sci-fi thriller, which starred Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, and Kiefer Sutherland, follows five ambitious medical students who conduct secret, dangerous experiments to “push through the confines of life” and figure out how to cheat death. Unfortunately, due to their arrogance and reckless thirst for immortality, they end up bringing back manifestations of their past sins and are forced to deal with their previous transgressions in the present.

So which character will Nina be playing? Producers reportedly have their sights set on her for the role of Marlo, “an overachiever who is at the top of her class.” Considering Nina knows a little something about chilling paranormal situations, thanks to her years as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on TVD, she sounds absolutely perfect for the part. Let’s cross our fingers and hope this actually happens!
