Why is Discord in the Season 4 opening???

Ok, I know that I'm fairly new to the show, and there may be something I've missed, but.....why??? What are they accomplishing by putting a little Easter egg in a theme song to a show aimed at people that won't notice (little kids btw)??? Ok, all I know is that one season Discord's not there, and now suddenly he randomly appears in Fluttershy's window?!

The reason for that is this: due to the high popularity of the character among fans, the writers have decided to make Discord an ancillary character in Season 4. He had an episode in Season 4, appears in several episodes in Season 4, and most likely will have some screen time in the next season as well as a side character.

He's grown to become not only an incredibly popular character, but he's also a bit more of a side character as opposed to just being the villain. The least the animators could do was add him into the intro.

Why hidden in Fluttershy's house, though... is a little confusing. Heck, I'm not questioning it. For those thinking, they are not living together. Why would they write letters? I do wonder where he lives, though.
