I would say Primal Fear : An arrogant, high-powered attorney takes on the case of a poor altar boy found running away from the scene of the grisly murder of the bishop who has taken him in. The case gets a lot more complex when the accused reveals that there may or may not have been a "third person" in the room during the murder. The intensity builds when a surprise twist alters everyone's perception of the crime and what really happened. and also Paranormal Activity: (I was afraid to go sleep after this movie it creeped the hell out of me) Katie and her boyfriend Micah have been living together for three years and out of the blue, they are haunted by an entity while they are sleeping. Katie discloses to Micah that she has been haunted since she was eight year-old. The skeptical Micah buys a camera to videotape the paranormal activity in their home during the night. Katie calls Fredrichs, to help them, but he explains that he is specialist in ghosts. However he feels the presence of a fiend and advises the couple to call a friend of his.

Paranormal Activity- at first I thought it was based on actual events. But after getting home and going online to find out more about it. I found out that the movie was completely made up. It scared the (bleep) out of me. I couldn’t sleep for about a month. And what’s even worst. I went to see it on Halloween night with my brother, who I guess wanted to see me scream and try to slither out of the chair.

When I went to see it again (lol) I knew what to expect, still got scared. But now I knew it wasn’t real. But it was shocking, and it made me think a lot. I own the movie now and vow to only watch it on Halloween night and/or rainy days.

Word to the wise: NEVER WATCH IT ALONE, OR IN THE DARK!!!

There are many that have had unexpected endings, althought I pride myself on usually being able to figure the plot twists out early on. But this movie made me go "OH, SNAP!" I have to go with Fight Club on this one... lol

well, there are quite a few actually..
first of all, Requiem for A Dream - if you've seen the movie, you know how and why
then The Pianist & Schindler's List - they had a huge impact on me, as well as Hotel Rwanda

these movies show a different side of human nature, a side we like to hide or pretend we don't actually have but the reality is that we're "selfish, base animals crawling across the earth, but 'cause we've got brains, if we try really hard, we can usually aspire to something that is less than pure evil." to quote from House MD

I would have to say Lord of the Flies. I was competely and utterly shocked as to how the children would act when scared or hungry, they were killing kids left right and centre! I haven't been able to watch it since, it gave me nightmares for months. Even now, when something reminds me of it, I get nightmares. :(

I would have to say The Sixth Sense. That was an ending I just didn't see coming and totally threw me for a loop as they did a great job of concealing it if you didn't know what you were looking for.
