Why do people like scary/horror movies?

Because to a horror fan, it's fun to be scared for a little while. It can't hurt you but it makes you jump. Others like to mock how unrealistic the villain and gore is. Either way, it's just another way to indulge yourself in some thrills, same as with any other genre. = )

For me it's cathartic - I was victim of a vicious attack many years back. In real life I wouldn't harm another living being so as well as using a punch bag - revenge type horror movies help with my recovery from said attack. I also like a good scare in the safety of the cinema or my home - most horrors are so far fetched, they are pure fantasy and as such a good laugh too. Also make good date movies - great excuse for a cuddle and your man can be your hero protecting you from the imaginary foe and holding you close to comfort and allay your fears (even if you're not really scared - hehehe)!! :-)

Because people like being scared for fun. Horror movies are intriguing and no matter how scared you are it makes you want more. Unfortunately though, horror films these days are total crap, so you're not really missing much. If you do ever decide to watch one someday, start out with 80's and 90's cause they are the best.

Because some people do in their opinion. My favourite scary/horror movie is Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

I just like watching the blood Gore and people getting killed ;)

I guess some people just love the sensation of being scared, I personally don't like getting scared cause i get scared easily.

Well somewhere along the road you lost ur mind. Horror movies are awesome!!! Just in my opinion. I guess we people just like horror movies.
