Lord of the Rings Question

is it the movie as great as the book??

1)do you think that the director brought the movie alive on screen??

2)are there any additional scenes in the movie that not from the book??

3)is it all the iconics scene are in the movie??

***i ask all these questions cause it is hard to find a movie that adapted from the book...will totally be the same..well the flow of the story might be the same..but sometimes they think this scene should be on the screen it will make the movie look more interesting..or this scene should not be on the screen just a wasted time..i dont know =< ...

I think the movies are utter beauty, and definitely made with respect and love for the source material - (the book.)

I highly recommend watching the Extended Editions. They truly add so, sooo much entertaining and important stuff in, as they are each almost an hour longer than the theatrical versions.

All the really essential scenes were in the films - but they also made a lot of changes and obviously in the name of drama. But seeing to the purpose they are good changes and work beautifully. Like, in the book Frodo and Sam both go into Shelob's lair but in the film, only Frodo does - I can't say more to avoid spoiling too much. And in the book, the elves leave Middle-Earth, they do not stay to fight, but in the flm... And in the film it seems like Shire knew nothing of the war, which I think is a pity and a bit unrealistic, but I understand why they left that part of the ending out. They kept in the most essential parts of the ending.

There are tons of interesting scenes that didn't get into the films but it IS a 1000 page book and they ARE already 4 hours long films, so how much more can you expect. And as said, all the essentil scenes seem to be in and they are portrayed beautifully.

I tryly feel they did justice to the book's story, the characters and the spirit. Everyone - the script writers, the director, the actors, the composer... Everyone.

The book is always better - but these films are a heartfelt and beautiful adaptation. I don't recall ever having any significant complaints to make and I am a big fan of the book. And I saw only Fellowship of the Ring before reading it - the rest I watched after.

I honestly think these films can really be enjoyed by all, book fans and those who do not know them. But of course, like with any book to film adaptation - it's recommendable to first watch the film and only then read the book.

But for me, I'd say, yes, the films are as great as the book.

I believe that the Director brought the movie to life.

There are a few scenes in the movie that weren't in the book (i.e the drinking game and the final count of orcs...I actually didn't see those two scenes until I went on YOutube. I have the edited version)

The Iconic scenes( from what I can remember) were included. The important ones definitely included.

If you read Pride and Prejudice, then watch the 1995 version THEN RE-read the book....IT IS SOO CLOSE to the book! ALMOST EVERYTHING is the same. EXACTLY THE SAME!!
