***Edward's POV***

In that one moment the dark disappeared, and I saw the horror that surrounded this small alley. At one end I saw a body, the limbs and head removed, and Jasper, Alice, Emmett, and Rosalie huddled around what I would assume was the only survivor from this trap. At the other end I saw Bella, her mother and father her mother obviously in shock, one hand clenched in her husband's and one in Bella's. ***Alice's POV***

I looked around and noticed that everyone was staring at me, all of their faces full of hope and anticipation..the last thing I wanted was to let them all down. I took a deep breath as I closed my eyes and shut out every sound and thought, blanking my mind until the only thought I had was of my family, Bella and the future that lie ahead of us. Nothing happened for a few minutes, I tried focusing in on just my family and still..nothing. I opened my eyes, frustrated that I failed...knowing that my entire family was relying on me to let them know what was going...

***Edward's POV***

Emmett and Jasper both moved up and flanked either side of me, both of them growling and ready for the fight that may happen. I think that given the chance we would have beat Demetri...but I heard other thoughts and the sound of feet seconds before Felix and a few other guards came around the corner, quickly shifting the odds to their side. I reached one hand up and pushed slightly on Jasper and Emmett's shoulders, making both of them relax out of their fighting stances.

"Is there a problem here?" Felix asked, doing his best to make himself lookl larger then...

Chapter 1

My name is Rosalie Lillian Hale, and today is my 17th birthday..which is reason enough to celebrate. I was awoken by my two younger brothers John and Charles who came into my room carrying a tray full of breakfast foods, breakfast in bed.

Once she had the lasagna assembled and in the oven we made our way into the living room, both of us sprawling out on the floor, piles of books all over. We talked and joked as we did our homework, occasionally helping each other when we could. Yet again I hadn't realized how much time had passed until Charlie walked into the house, pausing to smile as he walked past the living room into the kitchen.

"Hey kids." He said, grinning as he looked from me to Bella and back again.

"I think it would be best for everyone if we took a short break. Demetri..." Aro said as he turned to face the large sulking man in the back. "Could you show our guests to a more private place for their reunion?"
