"Father?" I asked, the shock in my tone far from hidden.

"Carlisle, I wish to teach you the ways. Hopefully we will take care of this problem, or they will run off..either way our town will be free of the curse that was placed on us."

"A curse?" I asked.

"Yes, first it was believed it was wolves or witches but now we know the truth..vampires. Creatures of the dark who kill for pleasure, sent to test our faith. We almost had them tonight, but they caught on to our plan and evaded us at each turn. Tomorrow you come with us to hunt again, hopefully you will be there to help us send...

Sorry I haven't written..i'll try and write more often..hope this makes up for it.

"There's only one way I can think of fixing this." I said as I kissed Alice's head.

"Please take me with you."

"Not this time love, I have to make this right. It's my fault that he left and I am the only one would can make this right."

"Which one is the guest suite?" I asked innocently.

"Oh please." Gabriel growled as he walked towards me, pushing me out of the way as he passed me. He walked down the hall to the last room on the right, opening the door and turning on the light before he turned and glared at me.

"You wait here, someone will get you when they are ready."

"Thanks." I said as I smiled and moved towards him, closing the door in his face.

I instantly looked around the room, noticing that it had no windows or other...

*dark ominous music* well...now we know what hurt the girl...let's see what happens next ;)

"Well, a few people have come to me at church and told of things missing from their houses. At first it was just little things like jewelry or clothing, but then it changed. The stories started coming in of hearing things running around the house, calling to them, begging them to come outside into the night." My father said softly.

"What do you want Jasper?" I asked, not trying to hide the anger in my tone.

"Edward, I just called to tell you I'm sorry. What I said was childish and uncalled for, I should not have said or thought those things...it was uncalled for."

"Yeah, you could say that." I said quietly. "Listen Jasper...I just need some time, I will be home once I get my thoughts in order."

"Edward, are you alright?" He asked, his tone full of sincerity.

"Yeah..." I said, my sentence being cut off by the tone of a young girls voice. "Gotta go, I'll call later."

Josephina nodded as much as she could as I moved up and motioned for her mother to move the light so that I could see better. When the light fell about this small child, the horror of the situation was know. She had been attacked by something, the wound shining in the light. Whatever had hurt her had gone for the kill with it's attack, a cut started on her right shoulder and wrapped around to the left side of her neck. I reached my hand out, grabbing a cloth that was laying on the bed which I used to wipe around the cut, looking for how much blood she had lost. I knew instantly...

"Alice, right now I don't want to hear that he is sorry, or that his life was so much harder then all of ours. Please don't make excuses for him." I said, not holding back anything.

"Edward." She said, her tone cautious.

"No Alice, please just tell everyone to leave me alone. I will be home when I am ready and not a moment before that. Do not come looking for me, I will leave again if you do."

I noticed that all of the other attackers had moved back, revealing faces I never thought I would see in Germany. Aro's gray head turned and grinned at me his thoughts only about how pleased he was to see me. He reached out his sickeningly old hand so that he could read my every though..well the thoughts and things that had changed since I saw him last.

I hesitantly reached out, my hand meeting his. I gasped slightly as I saw my memories flash through is mind. He stood completely still for a few minutes as he saw every personal moment between my family and...

I offered him a glass of wine as I went to get father, but he declined it. I watched him closely as he went over to the chair and sat down, ringing his hands in worry. I knew that this had to be important for him to come at this hour.

***Jasper's POV***

Alice looked up at the house, then her eyes went blank like they do when she has a vision. All of my petty thoughts were instantly forgotten as I moved up and wrapped my arms around her, supporting her. I whispered my apologies to her as I held her, waiting for her to return to me and tell me what she saw.

It was a few minutes (which was unusual) before she blinked, her entire body frozen in pure fear. She turned and stared at the house for a second before she turned and looked at me...the fear in her eyes enough to make me defensive.

"What is it?" I asked as...
