End of Chapter 30

We departed the plane as and quickly found a taxi that was waiting at this early hour of the morning. I quickly told the driver that we needed to get to Dumbarton Castle, and would pay double what he wanted if we could get there as fast as possible. He grinned, saying that he would have us there within an hour, and both Alice and I were surprised as we pulled in front of the castle noticing that it was completely uninhabited.

I paid the driver what he deserved, plus extra for getting us here in record time. We waved our goodbyes as we turned and faced the caste entry, the main entry looming over our heads.

I smiled as I walked up, turning to see Alice searching for something again. "Alice?" I asked.

"They just left. There is no one here...but I thought I saw..this looks like my vision of you fighting someone." She said, her thoughts full of fear and confusion.

"Alice if there is no one here, who will I fight?" I asked as I walked up, opening the door.

"Edward, be careful please. Do not go without me." She begged.

"I won't, please don't be afraid. I don't hear anyone's thoughts but yours." I said as I smiled, walking into the castle and up the hallway to where I guessed the bedrooms would be.

After searching a few rooms, I finally found the one that was the exact replica of Alice's vision. Bella's scent was so strong in here that it seemed like she would walk out of the bathroom at any moment. I was just about turn the knob when I heard Alice scream my name from the main room, I turned to see what was this was all about when I saw a vision of someone running into the room, a sword in their hand as they went to attack Alice. I turned just in time to see a man with brown curly hair enter the room, his eyes wide in anger as he held the sword up, angled to stab Alice through the heart.

Chapter 32

"Alice!" I screamed as I ran as fast as I could, smashing into the man who was threatening her. I managed to knock him off balance, sending him a few steps backwards before he regained his composure.

His thoughts were so all over that I couldn't get a reading on what he was thinking at that moment. I knew that he knew who Alice and I were and that he was thinking about how he was told to kill us at sight if we ever entered the castle. His last thought was of Bella being ushered out by a tall, dark man who had a hand on her arm protectivly.

"Where is Bella?" I said as I reached out, lifting him off the ground by the throat

"Edward, he's human." Alice cried from behind me.

I ignored her, knowing full well that this man under my hand was human...but he had to tell us what he knew, he may be the last human who saw her..the last person who would have information.

"Edward, he can't breath!" Alice said as she moved up, placing a hand on my arm.

I turned and glared at Alice, how could she not realize that this was the only way to get this man to talk. How did she not notice that he had just ran into the room, sword raised to attack her.

"Alice, he was going to attack you." I said, anger making my voice falter.

"Edward, he didn't hurt me...he couldn't have hurt me with that. Let him go, he is going to be unconcious soon and he won't be able to answer any questions then."

I pulled my hand back as the man slumped to the ground, his hands going to his throat as he gasped for breath. He wondered why I would just let him down, let him live after all that he had seen.

"Because Alice is here, that's why." I growled as I turned my back on him, heading too the bathroom.

"It is true then, you can read thoughts." He said, his voice rough. "Then she must be the one who see's the future."

"I wouldn't worry about who we are, you are very lucky to be alive." Alice said as she moved beside him. "I would suggest that you cooperate with us, answer our questions."

"Why should I?" The man asked as he started to stand, Alice's hand going to his shoulder as she pushed him back to the ground.

"Because she said so." I said as I turned and glared at him.

"You are suppose to be the peaceful coven." The man stated.

"We are, but our patience are wearing thin. Now answer Alice's questions or I will show you that we are not always peaceful." I said as I turned and glared at him, hoping that he wouldn't push his luck.

I stopped as I got to the bathroom door, my hand frozen on the door as I turned and glared at the man who Alice was still holding to the floor. His thoughts about how glad he was that he didn't go to the "states" like everyone else, and how he had enjoyed watching Bella be led out the front door blindfolded.

"I will kill him." I thought to Alice who turned to watch me, wondering if I really meant that. "Yes I do." I said as I turned and walked into the bathroom.
