I'm dying! Maybe she will change her mind. I sure hope so! I will probably watch next season but I WILL NOT like Cuddy being gone.

I also think they wrote her off in the season finale, or at least left that option open. The relationship between House and Cuddy is too damaged and I don't think they could ever work it out. Sad, but true. I just hope they come up with a decent storyline next year, which will be VERY hard to do. Fingers crossed

okay so she quit because she was getting a salary quit...not cool on House's part cause her and Hugh are the leads. so they need to now offer her the same amount or MORE. they can give anyone else a cut not her. Now the r so screwed. u cant have house without Cuddy. I think she may return if they offer her more or the same. So David shore better gets his brain on quick.

LE is in no way shape or form a lead. HUGH is the principal in the show and that is why he gets paid what he does. This show is called HOUSE not House & Cuddy!

I for one am not surprised. THAT IMO is why they wanted the 23rd episode. Could be her screen time would be less, or she was offered fewer episodes, they do get paid by episode so that could be a reason. Perhaps she decided enough is enough, since Huddy is over and HULI is clearly not on the cards, she feels it is best to leave and get on with life. Get away from Hugh as soon as she can, since he has made it quite clear he will be returning to the UK to his family once House is over.

However if this is true and it was HER decision it is weird, because she was always gushing about how she loved the show and the cast and crew and would definitely be there for as long as they wanted her. I can't see TPTB wanting to get rid of her, because she is very close with KJ and BS in particular. I mean it is not like she is the MOST sought after actress in Hollywood!! What is she leaving for?

I am going to wait and see what happens! This could just be a negotiating tactic!! I agree RR is insignificant. He is a non entity as far as I'm concerned. As far as Hugh, I'm sure he'll miss her, they are supposed to be friends and having worked so closely together for so long it is natural. But his world won't end if she is not there!

Season 8 is definitely the last season.

I'm hoping that as LaurieLover said, this is just a negotiating tactic. RSL is going to get even less screen time next year, and if LE is gone, then there's not going to be much of a reason for me to watch anymore. I don't give a shit about Taub's storyline.

I can't believe they won't do anything to bring her back...?She is worth everything and they let her leave just like that.Without her and Wilson what's next...?Taub will marry Foreman in Vegas will raise the kid together and live happily ever after.Thirteen will die eventually and Chace will walk alone in the sunset.

Cuddy wasn't my favourite character (is just one of them!), not even the lead character of the serie, but come on! Who's going to punish House with extra hours of clinic work?! Who's going to suffer because of him? Who's going to save him?! God, that show is so dead to me...

I knew it was about money, i just KNEW it! It always boils down to that...and I do have to agree, she's been doing this show a long time. She might ahve some serious movie offers out there, or her own show. She's a powerful presence, but I got over it in about 5 minutes. She's too mommy for House. Although it's sad to see where it could've gone, ie, the What Now ? eppy. Too sad to watch now.

In a way, I'm excited to see where House goes with this issue off the table. Although, not sure it is, right? They could come up with the money for L.E. if that's the case...
So is Season 8 in the bag? if not, get ready for a real blow next week....

I love this show and I have to admit that I watch it only for "Huddy"...I am really disappointed that Lisa E. is quiting the show... The show without Cuddy won't be the same..even if she is not the main character, she is an important one, House's lover..How can Fox let her go? I really don't understand! I no longer feel like watching season 8...too too bad!

just read it was money that made lisa quit she was only getting 2 milion for season 8.I find this a very disapionting reason.A brilliant show prob distroyed in its last season.

any one else wondering why there has been no comment from D.S and K.J and nothing from RSL or hugh.

Luvies.... money makes the world go round. I have said all along that her motivation is money. It has nothing to do with creative differences, personal feelings and relationships or even it seems loyalty.

She wants her pound of flesh and because she is not going to get it she will do the only thing she can to properly screw with the show its producers and the fans.......resign!!

Thing is if they have taken this long to come to an agreement on Season 8 all the cast and crew and even TPTB would have been aware of the implications.
A few months ago she was all "Yes we are looking forward to Season 8 and we all will be on board."

What happened between then and now?
Salary negotiations!!!

Only Hugh, Olivia and Peter are unaffected. By leaving Lisa Edelstein is showing that all her gushing about working on House the best cast, crew, writers blah blah blah was all just lip service.

She was offered a contract, it was obviously NOT what she was expecting, but in this global crunch one would think she is smart enough to take what she can get. It is only one more season after all. And who says NO to $2 million in this economic climate? So now she will earn nothing. House is a global phenom, sorry for her. And if by some miracle the economy recovers, and it is decided to give the ones that stayed for less bonuses or they decide to make another season (unlikley) she will be out in the cold.

This move just shows that she is not loyal to anything but the money. It is a shame really.

They might decide to better her deal to see if she changes her mind, but she really is just being mercenary!! If the others are willing to take a "pay cut" or less screen time, why should the networks bend over backward for LE. She is NOT vital to the show.

Her leaving will also affect others, the twins that play Rachel are now also going to loose their contracts and that is a real shame. They are little and just starting out. They are loosing a job and they can do nothing about it.

Her deal will be with NBCU & Fox. KJ, DS, RSL and Hugh really have no input, and clearly they have little to say at this point. I doubt Hugh will say anything he is to much a gentleman but I am sure he has his own thoughts on the matter.

Just because she is leaving does not mean everything is falling apart. If Hugh left only then would things fall apart!!


Speaking from personal experience I sold my business and we have sold 2 of our properties for what we can get in todays economy. Was it what we wanted? NO! Were they worth more? YES much more! But we are immigrating and we have to take what we can realistically get now. Or leave with nothing.

There is a GLOBAL recession and anyone who can turn their nose up at employment clearly is full of it. The unemployment in the US is at an all time high and she turns down $2 million for 9 months work. Brave girl this LE!!
