Hetalia Question

What's your opinion on the character that represents your country?

Do you like them? Do you dislike them? Why or why not? Do you feel they are an accurate portrayal of your country? If your country is not in Hetalia, if you were to add it, what would he/she be like?

At risk that this question has already been asked but I have not seen it, I will ask you it.

As for my answer, it would be Italy (if I were to be specific, it would be Romano for me). I'll admit that I actually do like both of them. Very much. Now please keep in mind that I myself cannot speak for the ENTIRE country as a whole and it's been a few years since I was last in Italy, but I do remember it fairly well. The flirtiness is very accurate as many Italian men do like to flirt with girls. I do feel that the brothers being a bit more manly would suit them better though, since Italian men, from what I remember anyway, are pretty manly. The fact that it's been said many times in Hetalia that "Italians are the best lovers", which they have been said to be, I think Veneziano saying he was a virgin was... eh, you'd think he'd have experience. Yes, Italians /do/ drive like crazy fucks (man, have you seen Catania? My Dad told me Rome is a bit calmer, though I haven't been to Rome since I was about six years old). In the South, we are a bit more laid back as opposed to the North, that part is also true. As for the cowardice, I suppose that while it's true there were a few times in WWII where the Italians had failed invasions and some other things that probably didn't work out, and there are plenty of jokes about Italy during that time, but the soldiers themselves were very brave. I'm not too bothered by it though. I'd write more but my mind hit a blank. I'm sure I'll think of more soon. I guess overall, I personally like the Italy brothers. :)

So how about you guys?
What's your opinion on the character that represents your country?

Hahaha, I like their interaction too! What I personally don't like about America's portrayal in Hetalia though was how they made him seem like an ungrateful brat towards Britain, which isn't the case for the American Revolutionary War. D: But aside from that, he's great!

((’Merica? He's pretty spot on, I guess. The comic books, ambition, junk food obsession is pretty much all there is to it. If you want to get specific, his haircut is kinda dorky; I'd expect something more... iono, unique. Americans are pretty creative when it comes to hair, so I'd imagine him to have something cooler. But that's just me being picky. A PET EAGLE COULDN'T HURT, EITHER AHAHAHA /shot.

In summary, I think USA is portrayed accurately enough.))

Lets see,I am Southern Italian,Irish,Polish,Lithuanian,French-Canadian and American.

So I am represented by Romano,Iggy (He is England among his brothers, but represents the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern IRELAND everywhere else.),Po,Lithy, and America.

I love Romano and think he is very funny. One odd point though.Everyone says I look Italian, and I look just like Fem!Romano.I eat like her too.Is it odd that I am mostly Italian?

Of course I love Iggy.He is just like me,a grumpy, jaded, and cynical punk who cares way too much about grammar and proper pronouciation.

I have one word to describe Poland:FABULOUS!Seriously,Polamd is awesome, and I love his sort of split personality, like me.I act brave and cold, but I really di kind of have a fear of opening up to people.I hope I can find my Lithy.

Lithuania is just plain adorable!I love the way his character bounces off Poland's and the Baltics.I feel the same way with my friends at school as Lithy does with Poland.I am the sanest person out of all of them.

I have too words about Canada : POOR CANADA!He is ignore dtoo much!I am just like him.I am ignored, except among my friends (Who would be represented as Cuba and France (!My friend is JUST like France.Dirty mind and all.))I WUV YOU CANADA!

Last, but not least,America.Good 'ol US of A.Who is kin dof a total idiot. But,I admit I have some similarites. For one,we are both content to sit on our butts all day and play video games and go on the internet all day.Wait, that is all we have in common.Still, that's enough for me.

Well,I see to have something in common with all my countries.I love them all and I wouldn't have them any other way.

Uhh, that wasn't what I meant? I was referring to either the country you grew up in, or whichever is in your genetics.

(I think she's talking about how a lot of people in the fandom like to refer to Spain as the 'pedo' character :/ I don't really see Spain as a pedo though... and this part of the sentence 'the pedo part I keep seeing in my dad' really concerns me :( )

((Yes, I do indeed like Iggy's character ;) Very much in fact! To the point where I am even obsessing over him almost every day when I'm role-playing being in a relationship with another England not on this site XD It's kinda sad... but I don't mind 8D haha..
I can't say why I love him so much for sure... maybe it's those sexy eyebrows....maybe it's those great facial expressions of his... it may be even his adorable tsundere but gentlemanly personality ^///^ In fact, I'm pretty sure it's all of those reasons listed above and more!
The portrayal of him in Hetalia based on the stereotype of English people is correct I guess on some levels... of course every person who lives here is not the same so I can't speak for everyone, but generally we are quite moody... haha, always complaining about the weather ;D A lot of us also enjoy to drink tea (I don't but that's just me being picky about drinks and food ;L haha), we often find ourselves ranting about Americans and how they need to be more careful about what they eat due to the obesity problems over there (I personally wouldn't like to give a strong opinion on this since I know that not everybody over there is obese... but I can understand why we might rant about that issue since I've heard it's becoming more of a problem over there ;/), fish and chips is very popular over here, and we're not really known for having the best cooks... I myself am not a very good cook but that's because I don't really try very often (ahaha... ^^;).
I don't know where England having imaginary friends came from though XD Also, we most definitely do not all speak proper English like the Queen would and how the stereotype suggests! Seriously, there are so many different accents based on the cities in which people live here and there are some who use slang way too much in their usual day to day conversations unlike Arthur... but yeah, apart from that I think that England in Hetalia is a pretty accurate portrayal of my country XD))

Oh my gosh I love him to death~! America is such a wonderful character and in my opinion is so spot on that it's almost scary... I'll admit at first I had some mixed feelings towards him. Mostly because when I first saw him, his potrayal (totally spelled that wrong) was so spot on to me on that I found myself thinking "GAAAH~!!! Why am I American~?!" but, of course after awhile I started to really really like him. He's seriously has grown on me. Anyways, I really love America and he makes me happy to be American. I feel much more proud of my nationality than I used to. I suppose you could say, he's made me a bit more patriotic. I just love him to death and I wouldn't have him any other way. He's perfect. I know a lot of people say some bad things about him, calling him a brat and whatnot but, I look past those things. His wonderful qualities and personality is what makes me love him. I love my country forever and as I said, I wouldn't have him any other way~! <3 GO AMERICA~!!!

Heh I think I'm the only Chinese here ^.^
For China....I can't say the creator made China that well...the people in China are fairly mature then other countries, they're a lot of smarter and the learning is HARD, its so horrible if your homework would at least take you three hours to do but China? He's the most childish country I know! With his little panda and stuff, he's pretty laid back -.-
But if we had to compare looks, I'd have to say its pretty good, in the ancient times, men used to have long hair down to their knees but China having a small pony tail would already portrait the country, I'm not quite pleased with the character but he's good enough since he's 4000 years old ^.^ Also his clothes really suits the culture :D

Haha you're right, he does act a bit childish at times. Though sometimes I've seen him act pretty mature as well, kinda like an old man? Or I don't know, I've actually been in the fandom part for so long and it's been a while since I read any strips with China in haha. I really should try reading again.

Australia's such a good representation of Australian stereotypes it's hilarious. His accent, personality and and appearance are amazing. All we need is for him to ride in a kangaroo's pouch and he'd be perfect. (We don't actually do that BTW, most of us live in towns or cities and are civilized)
I love how he calls New Zealand 'kiwi' as a playful nickname as that's what we call New Zealanders to tease them.
