Harry Potter Question

It's just...ugh, just read the damn thing.

Lately, people are getting the idea that Harry Potter sparks satanism amongst children.

What?!

It's just TYPICAL! My mum's side of the family are jehovah wittnesses are once I went camping with then and I'd brought Philosophers Stone to read. And I was really sort-of SHUNNED for reading it. It was dead uncomfortable and they were just really....spiteful towards me, remember I was only nine when this happend so I cried.
-Violins-

I asked Mum and she said it was because of the whole magic fangdango and apparently "little children believe that it's real..blah blah blah"

Sooooo, recently. I was upstairs with my half-brothers Aaron and Ethan -I have a tv in my room and we were just flicking through it- and I saw that on the movie channel was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets...

At first they were like "NO! NO! SATAN!" but I made them watch it -in private of course- and they LOVED it. Even though they had nightmares for weeks but...never mind.

I told my cousin, David about this and he said "Well, I think you can learn lots of lessons from Harry Potter." And I said "Yeah? Like what?" And he said "Don't pretend to be a wizard and stay away from ginger people."
Charming.

Anyway, just wanted to see what you think, dahlings!

OMG!!! That's awful! Luckly in my family there aren't any things like this, we are free to read and watch what we want! But I'm sorry that you have to go through that!

wow, i never knew Harry Potter was considered by some people to be satanism O__O. In my family we're all okay with it. I love it, my sister loves it and we spent an entire evening explaining the story to our parents. But, honestly, i see no satanism in hp.

it's because people are stupid.
and it isn't just lately, it's been since the first book was published. a girl i was babysitting said she wasn't allowed to read them, and i said, "why? i love harry potter!" and she said "OBVIOUSLY you've never heard of witchcraft." and i went, "OBVIOUSLY you've never heard of fiction."
but yeah, it's just certain peoples' preferences. while i strongly disagree, there isn't really we can do about it.

Well, I started liking Harry Potter when I was 6 (when it came out)Later on in the years my big brother started to also. After that..the WHOLE entire family became huge fans of it.
So I don't really have to worry.
I don't know why a lot of people think "Satanism" when they hear Harry Potter.
I use to have a friend who would sneak over to watch it because her family thought it was religiously incorrect.
*sigh* well hopefully one day people will realize...

Man. Horrible. Don't feel bad, I used to have a friend who had parents like that too. A lot can be learned from Harry Potter if you look. I don't won't to go off because of what others believe, but I think if I met your family, I'd have a few choice things to say to them.

That's horrible that you have to go through that, I mean like my dad doesn't really like Harry Potter because he finds it cheesy, but nobody in my family finds it satanic and we are really devoted Christians, I don't see how it promotes Satanism.
