I myself am a firm Romione fan as well, however you must understand that others are entitled to their own opinions when it comes to canon and non-canon couplings. First off, I believe the more accepted Hermione/Harry coupling name is Harmony (Harry/Hermione fans please correct me if I am wrong about this). Secondly, I believe that many people like them as a couple because they never really have fall outs like Ron and Hermione do and because in many novels and films, the main male protagonist ends up with the main female protagonist. So to some it may seem odd that the sidekick ended up with the main female protagonist. Furthermore, Hermione and Harry seem to have a deeper relationship than Ron and Hermione do at times. This can especially be seen in Goblet of Fire after Harry is made a champion much to Ron's chagrin, and in Deathly Hallows after Ron abandons the trio due to the effects of the locket. However, I always felt from the third book onward (because who didn't assume that Harry and Hermione were going to be a couple later on when the series first started) that Ron and Hermione was meant to be, and it was made pretty obvious in later books, as JKR herself mentioned numerous times. I have also felt since that third book that Harry and Hermione's deep relationship is more brother/sister rather than lovers. They're both single children without siblings, and they are able to look each other for the support and comfort they need that a lover sometimes just cannot provide.
Another reason people may ship Harmony is because of their portrayal in the films. The third and fourth films lean more towards a Harmony portrayal and showing Ron in a weaker, more negative light. Those fans that do not read the books closely enough, or at all even, may be shipping Harmony based on their film portrayal. If you look back on POA, Harry and Hermione's time in the woods, especially when the dementors arrive, is shown almost in a romantic light. The key scenes of this argument is when Harry hugs Hermione to him as the dementors appear and Hermione gazing onward as Harry repels the dementors from Sirius and his past selves in a perfect damsel/knight-like scene. Probably the truly key scene though that can lead some fans to Harmony support is the GOF scene where Hermione goes to the tent where Harry is before the first task, tells him "I'm scared for you", then hugs him in what can be viewed as an "I'm scared for you because I romantically love you" kind of way. I'm not saying all Harmony fans have found their love of this ship through the films, I'm just saying some have and that the films could also be a reason why some fans support it.
Please remember at all times that Romione is not the only couple, and your belief that they are the best is just an opinion even though it is canon. It is a majority opinion, but please be respectful of the couples that others ship.
