Harry Potter Question

What's Your Favourite HP Item? Why?

In the books/films, what item is your number-one favourite? It could be the Quick Quotes Quill, a Pensieve, The Sorting Hat, Sirius's jacket, a Galleon, The Triwizard Cup - ANYTHING. (Has to be an item, not a building/animal/place)
I like Riddle's diary - the idea of a beautiful, mad boy coming out of a book is quite a good one! I thought it was a great idea indeed, & rather shocking.

What's your favourite HP item - and what does it symbolise to you personally? :-D

The wand of Severus Snape.

"what does it symbolise to you personally?"

We don't know each other well enough for me to tell you that.

That's a really good one. It just occured to me that another item I found fascinating is Polyjuice Potion. It makes me wonder what it would be like for society if the stuff actually existed. Surely things like trust and law and order would be severely compromised by the ramifications. I also wonder what the transgender community would make of such an invention - the ability to transform your body into another one, another sex entirely...There'd be riots to get hold of some! ;-) I like all these answers.

Hymmm, I have two things I could wish for, well, actually three. Two are actually specific things so I will list runner's up first.
3. "Hogwart's: A History" book
2. The every changing ceiling in the Great Hall.

And if I actually got my heart's desire, (and since you specified we could not ask for a person--Severus Snape--LOL), my number one would be the actual Hogwart's Castle with all its rooms. I would love to walk its halls.

1.Harry's cloak of invisibility.
It has been the one most useful possesion that helped Harry since his first year.besides,Harry inherited it from his long lost ancestors "The Peverells"and its the hallow which saves one from greedy and murderous eyes!

2.The book "Hogwarts:A History".It made not only Hermione, but all readers, aware of the fascinating and unknown things of the best school in the world.

3.The sorting hat. I have loved it since I've read about it in the first book.A singing hat with amazing deduction power that not only sorts the pupils to different houses, but also warns everyone in times of grave danger and advises to stay together!wow!!!
