Harry Potter Question

İs Voldemort and Harry related??

Hi everyone, ı am sure that you would remember the chapter 'the House of Gaunt' where Dumbledore and Harry revisited Tom Riddle's ancestors using a pensieve in the HBP.In that chapter Marvolo Gaunt claimes that the ring that he is wearing has been in his family for centuires. We all figured out that the stone in that ring is a Hallow in the DH later. We also learned that Harry's family had the cloak for ceenturies too, and he is a desendant of Peverell brothers. Like Sirius once said in the OOTP 'all pure blood families are related somehow...'

If you're going that far back down the family trees, then yes they are. But the same could be said for anyone else if you follow the family trees far enough.

What really happened during the graveyard scene in the 4th book:

[Voldemort has cornered Harry behind a gravestone.]
Voldemort: There is no escape! Don't make me destroy you. Harry, you do not yet realize your importance. You've only begun to discover your power! Join me, and I will complete your training! With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict, and bring order to the world.
Harry: I'll never join you!
Voldemort: If only you knew the power of the Dark Side. Dumbledore never told you what happened to your father.
Harry: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Voldemort: No..., I am your father.
Harry: No... NO! That's not true! That's impossible!
Voldemort: Search your feelings; you know it to be true!
Harry: NOOOOOOOO!!! Noooooooo!
Voldemort: Harry, you can lead the wizards out of hiding. I have foreseen this. It is your destiny! Join me, and together, we can rule the world as father and son!
[Harry spots the portkey]
Voldemort: Come with me. It is the only way.
[Harry grabs the portkey and teleports away]

Umm yea, does that help? XD

If George Lucas was in a grave he'd be rolling in it.

Voldemort was the descendant of Whatever-Peverell-brother-was-it and Harry is the descendant of Ignotus Peverell.
So, yes. Distantly, all the way down their family trees.

Yeah I thought about that too. I actually had an exciting moment when I thought that Harry might actually be an Heir of Slytherin but then I realized the Peverell brothers were obviously before Hogwarts.

Yeah, it's not really Harry being related to Voldy, that he speaks parseltounge. I believe Voldy passed some of his power onto Harry that night he murderd his parents and tried to kill him...I think JK said something like that, or maybe it was even mentioned in the books...

Sirius is right "All pure-blood families are related somehow" including what are now (were) the Potters and the Gaunts. But technically that means Malfoys and Weasleys are in there too (wow that would kill Ron, Harry and Malfoy...)
