Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Do you think Alice, Bella, and Edward are cowards because they didn't make an effort to save those people the Volturi were killing?

No, there was nothing they could do. They would've gotten killed too.

Not because they would have gotten caught, but because it's natural for vampires to kill people. The Volturi had been living like that for centuries. They weren't evil, They were the leaders. Trying to stop them from feeding the normal way just because the Cullen's developed different morals would be disrespectful.

It would be like a vegetarian animal lover trying to stop everyone else from killing for food by taking all the animals away. Sure, it's heartbreaking to watch, but you just have to accept that everyone is not like you.

I wouldn't say they were cowards...perhaps if there was a chance they wouldn't have been killed over it, yes. But if they would definitely have died, then no, not cowards. cassie-1-2-3 has a point.
However, I think it makes them terrible people to not seem to feel any remorse over them. Especially Bella, who should have been able to relate to her fellow humans. But all she did was have a little cry over them and then was over it within hours. I know that if it were me, it would still be haunted by it years later.

^ I would be haunted too knowing that I just watched dozens of people literally walk to their deaths. I believe they could have done something though, you know? How could so many tourists vanish and no one would know about it? Where the hell were the police or security guards? Couldn't someone see them or worry about them, especially family members? If I were Bella (shudders), I would definitely feel horrible about watching all those people unknowingly marching off to be killed. The Volturi can't (or won't?) even hunt for themselves. Makes me wonder why they're the leaders of the vampires when all they do is sit around and have their food brought to them.

The HP trio help stop the dark lord from destroying the world. How awesome and brave is that? Did they have to? No. They wanted to and they knew it was the right thing to do. Everyone (muggle borns, blood traitors, pure bloods, giants, centaurs, etc) joined forces. They didn't just blindly go into battle expecting to win. In the end, good did triumph, but at the cost of major losses on both sides. Not one 'good' person died in Twilight, even in the 'supposed epic (fail) battle' scene in Breaking Dawn.

I'm not giving my reasons just because I'm an HP fan (I used to be a Twilight fan so I'm not anti-Twilight all the way). I just state opinions and facts on both sides.

I believe it was wrong for Bella to have no feelings.

However, I think Cassie has a point- they are vampires. It's what they do.

But, I also know that Edward etc are 'veggie' vampires, so, if they really are as moral as they suggest, they should have done something. That's one thing that doesn't make sense in Twilight- why do they put themselves through all the discomfort and misery of being 'veggie', but have no feelings about a group of people being killed?

No offence to any Twilight fans, and I see their point. But if Harry Potter was real (and not just real to us) and the Trio never tried to help the muggle borns, they probably wouldn't have defeated Voldemort because that was kind of the point, the law of love is that love conquers hate. Plus; in the war a lot more people would have died in the Holocaust if people didn't care for the sufferers. The Trio risked their own lives MANY times.

PS: I do see their point and I guess it's kind of a natural human resource for most people to put their own safety first, it is survival instinct.

I know it's what normal vampires do, but wasn't the whole point of the Cullens be that they weren't vampires? That they didn't want to harm humans?

The Trio could have gotten caught (and then taken to Voldemort and killed) when they were helping the people get out of the Ministry. They could have died when they were fighting the Death Eaters, when they broke into Gringotts, when they went to rescue Sirius, when they fought Quirrell, and the Basalisk. It didn't stop them.

Bella, Edward, and Alice didn't even try to save any of those people.
