wotcher-tonks Um, no, Twilight does NOT have a bigger fan base. Harry Potter is the fastest selling book series in history. Emma Watson is a wonderful actress. Kristen Stewart? No. She had ONE expression the entire movie. I am an HP fan (a diehard one) and I am proud to be called a dork, and I'm sure Gred is too :)

Bella fell in 'love' just months after meeting Edward and a majority of the book is her talking about his looks. That is not love.

wotcher-tonks There is no love in Twilight. It was lust. Bella wouldn't have looked twice at Edward if he wasn't "dazzling". The shallow love is in Twilight. Romance isn't the only type of love. Harry's parents DIED for him when he was only a baby. Why? Because they loved him. Love is what protected Harry from Voldemort. The Weasly's loved Harry like a son. Harry risked his life for an entire race of people. Snape risked his life (and died in the end)to protect Lily's son(Harry) because of how much he loved her. THAT is real love.

And i didn´t want to answer it because I thought that your arguments were not convincing enough. But then I read this article and I think it´s very sweet of you that you apologize and want to start over. Hermione was really sad after Ron had left but she remained strong and didn´t cry in her bed, she still did what she wanted to do, just because she was not yelling or crying, it doesn´t mean that she was not hurt. That makes Hermione a strong and independent character. 3. Hermione and Bella are in so different cirumstances. Sure Bella could get killed and eaten by some vampires or something. That´s brutal too. She could get killed, but she was with Alice. She was not alone when she went to Edward. She knew Alice and trusted that she would save her, cause Alice could even see the future and could let Bella know if a vampire was going to attack her. But Hermione's circumstances were way different. Do you know about the 2. World War? Because the books were based on the War and Voldemort was inspired from Hitler. I hope you know what I´m talking about. You know what Nazis did to Jews? I hope you know that. I mean it´s history, you have to know that. You just have to imagine that the Death Eaters would have done the same thing to Mudbloods. So they have to hide and they don´t have an Alice with them, who would tell them who the Death Eaters are and when they will come to torture or kill them. They are 17-year-old teenagers all by themselves. They have to be careful and they can't get involved in teenage love dramas. They don't have the time for it, they must behave like adults and like warriors. So, that was my opinion. :)

FalconAnimagus Awww... Back to the argument. Oh well. One of my best friends is a twifan, and she patiently listens to our (we: my other BFF and I) complaints... She agrees with us and doesn't know why she likes twilight so much... You and she are examples of twilight fans who can be mature (I say can be, my friend can also be entirely cuckoo... And from what these guys are saying, you used to be our average twihard) and gain a bad reputation through those who can basically say f*** off. Or Harry potter has no love... Which it does.
