The Volturi and The Death Eaters have a lot in common. This article points out the features of The Death Eaters that the Volturi seem to have as well.
Before I begin, you have to remember that The Death Eaters were here first – so the Volturi copied them, not the other way around. Now, the leaders of the Volturi are –unless I’m very much mistaken – Aro, Marcus, and Caius. The leader of The Death Eaters is Lord Voldemort.
The Dark Lord can perform Legilemency, which is rather like mind reading, whatever Snape says. Aro can read minds too. The Dark Lord needs eye contact, Aro needs a single touch. Now, all of you who have read Order of The Phoenix will understand that the mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at one’s leisure. The mind is a complex and diverse thing... SM, writing Twilight, does not seem to understand this.
Before you say that it is ‘just fiction,’ let me explain. With one touch, Aro can dive into all your thoughts, retrace all your memories. In other words, he has access to all your thoughts since you were born. This is impossible, as no one, human, vampire OR wizard, remembers their thoughts from babyhood.
Next up, the lead females: Bellatrix [BELL a tricks] Lestrange [la STRAWNGE] vs. Jane.
They both are known as 100% pure evil, although Bellatrix does more to deserve her title than Jane.
Bella and Jane both have powers. Bellatrix is extremely powerful, is excellent at torturing people, has no thoughts of ‘what happens if I kill this person’, does not care about being put in Azkaban if the only way out of it is to denounce her Lord. Bellatrix, like many other HP characters, also has a name history; search Bellatrix Lestrange if you want to find out.
Jane, on the other hand, is not really all that evil. Her power is to torture people, which Bellatrix does all the time for fun.
Jane’s pain, however, is illusionary (yeah thanks Meyer! *sarcasm*) unlike Bellatrix, whose pain you feel because it’s real. And Bella’s pain comes with the curse ‘Crucio!’ which you ‘need to mean them!!!’ as Bella screams at Harry in the Department of Mysteries.
Jane is also the middle name of Dolores Jane Umbridge, who causes Harry Potter a lot of ‘pain’ in the books, emotionally and physically.
Jane also has a twin brother named Alec. Alec’s power is to make a person feel nothing. The Volturi use him when they are feeling rather ‘merciful’ so the person getting destroyed does not feel the pain. WHAT KIND OF VILLAINS ARE THESE??
The Dark Lord never lets a person feel ‘nothing’ before killing them! It makes him all the more villainous! The Death Eaters actually enjoy causing pain! They love the feeling of murder, of torture, of pain. They want to cause it always and that’s why they joined the Dark Lord.
Now, the spell ‘Imperio’ does more than make you feel nothing, it makes you under control of the person who cast the spell on you. Some people can deflect ‘Imperio,’ like Harry, but it is rare.
Also, ‘Alec,’ the name is only two letters apart from the Death Eater name ‘Alecto,’ and both the Death Eaters are twins. Alecto and Amycus, Alec and Jane.
What about Caius? He apparently has no power. He likes killing and war, so he seems to be the most evil of all the Volturi. This does not argue a bit against The Death Eaters; all of them love war, murder, and bloodshed. The Death Eaters, when fighting, only care that they follow their Lord’s orders. They otherwise don’t care about who or what they kill.
And the last Volturi leader, Marcus. Stephenie Meyer described Marcus's powers as the following: "Marcus's gift is actually quite valuable in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. For example, imagine Marcus on the battle field. He sees the binding ties between the enemy the guard faces. He can tell who the leader is just by watching the way the others are tied to him or her. He can see how to destroy the resistance simply by picking off a few key people. He doesn't just see romantic relationships, but also ties of family and friends, loyalty and devotion. He can tell if any given person would die for another. Off the field of battle (as the Volturi rarely leave their home), Marcus's gift is valuable politically (for lack of a better word). It's an amazing gift in a diplomatic situation. Plus, when you're sitting on an empire, it’s nice to be able to see when someone's loyalty starts wavering. Or if anyone is getting too fond of anyone else. Can you see the potential now? Marcus didn't get where he is with some fluff skill."
A few things to say: First, this is the strangest power yet. Second, as everyone was willing to ‘die’ for Harry in DH against the Death Eaters, this wouldn’t really come in handy. Third, notice how she herself mentions (but not in these words) how the Volturi are lazy? “As the Volturi rarely leave their home.”
Those are the main Volturi/Death Eaters, if you wish I shall take requests.
Volturi are a lot like the Death Eaters, except The Death Eaters actually get their evil deeds done...

Okay this is more of an opinion, since my view of the activity is based off opinion.

Now whenever someone posts something on the internet and someone else responds negatively to it, they respond in the same way to that person. In a very negative tone. This is in fact what I see at times in forums.

First Twilight and Harry Potter fans, if you post anything on the internet, whether they are opinions or facts, you have responsibilities with it. You are exposing yourself to others in the internet. You are responsible for the positive or negative replies. So don't blame others for your actions....

I have actually read both series and liked Twilight okay, but Harry Potter rules for me!

First, the so often brought up topic... love, or lack thereof. Harry Potter consists of all sorts of love: family, parental, romantic, friend. Twilight consists of pure lust. Now for the evidence! Mrs. Molly Weasley killed Bellatrix Lestrange because Bellatrix nearly killed Ginny, her only daughter. The Weasleys all look out for each other, and even Percy apologized in the seventh book. They joined together in dark times, happy ones, sad ones, and when Fred died. You might say the Cullens show family love....

I'm going to start doing articles like this because I think it's fun and I just wanna see who thinks one character is better than the other.

Before you guys start, let me tell you my opinion. I think that Bellatrix is the better villan because she's mean, crazy and cruel but also happens to have good fighting skills, even though I hate her for hurting Hermione. She's also not afraid [potterheads correct me if i'm wrong] to kill others. She pretty much has the ultimate personality and guts that Villaness's have.

Those are my opinions. Now... feel free to add yours!! Enjoy:)
PREFACE - THE JEALOUS-FALLACY IN ITS MANY FORMS

Alright, I have already dissected one very common fallacy invoked by some Twilight fans and a few Harry Potter fans as well, the Edward-fallacy. I shall not discuss that one but instead I will be moving on and examine another common fallacy invoked by some fans, using what I believe is the two most common forms of it.

"YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS, THEREFORE YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID"

Firstly, let us examine the logical reasoning behind "You are just jealous, therefore your argument is invalid".
It is invoked when any fan post an argument and employes this...

1. It has better writing.
2. It's plotline is better.
3. I'd rather read a book about a teenage boy going to a wizardry school and fighting a dark sorceror than one about a ditzy girl who's way too obsessed with her sparkly boyfriend.
4. The characters are more relateable.
5. J.K. Rowling is not afraid to kill off plenty of good guys.
6. Most of the characters' educations actually matter to them.
7. It doesn't have thousands of rabid fangirls.
8. The characters are more three-dimensional.
9. It stays true to mythology.
10. It has more types of love in it, not just romantic and sexual love (or should...
