Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

Now tell me... This is true, is it not?

I may say that when us HP fans are asked WHY we like Harry Potter, what's so great about it? We actually give constructive, good, totally true reasons.

BUt when we ask Twilighters the same question, the best answer I've got is:

"It doesn't need reasons, it just is."

oh and another one, which irritates the hell outta me

"edward/jacob/jasper."

May I also point out that in picks , there are about 80-100% of fans picking the Harry Potter related ones. (apart from picks like which is worse or who is the biggest Mary Sue etc...)

I'm just pointing out facts.

And, as the others say, there's nothing wrong in thinking something's better, if you have proof. But if you personally prefer it, then that's fine, it's a matter of opinion.

That's great, but it would be interesting to know WHY you guys like Twilight ... it's a matter of curiosity, rather than 'questioning constantly.'

Thanks, quite coincidental. OOTP was released on that day until they changed it to July 11th. two months in advance. WB is weird sometimes.

I agree, you don't need a reason to like something, but when you're trying to prove something is better than another, you need reasons, evidence, arguments, etc. To try and prove your side of the Harry Potter vs Twilight debate, you need to back it up with reasons, which is what we're asking for. Hope that makes sense.

^whoops, pressed enter by accident. ...because that is what we're looking for; a debate. We are also much more respectful of people with good grammar, people who don't use a character's appearance as a reason, and people who are polite. We will be the same in return... at least, I will. I hope the rest of Team Potter is the same (obviously I can't control them) but yeah, we do want the Twilight fans to go into detail, we get cranky when you don't.

Actually, I have to disagree with you, KatiiCullen94. I can name two Twilighters on this website (and probably both have been to this page) who are not crazy. I have debated with both of them, and they both have presented real arguments with real evidence. While I still may not agree with them, I have told both of them that they are good debaters making strong points, and the crazy Twihards should use that as an example. Both of them have made me say at some point or another, "Whoa, that's actually a pretty good point." They, however, do not use the arguments of "Twilight's better because Harry's a nerd!" or "Twilight's better! You're just jealous!" or "Twilight's better because Edward is hot!" They state real, strong reasons, then they support their reasoning with evidence. I haven't seen you personally say anything that would make me classify you as a crazy Twihard, but I have seen it on here. Trust me; if you make a good, well thought out argument, while I will probably debate the point, I will respect you. I promise. This is a debate forum, not an argumental forum, therefore I shall debate kindly (and thouroughly), as long as the other debater is polite to me. Good luck! :)

that is true, Rose, strong points can get you anywhere when you're debating. I'm not good at debating because I always turn it into an argument, but i know how you can debate well because I've seen it.

Yeah, of course you can't explain why you like yellow. because it's not a story. that's just a colour. You can just glance and you know what it is, you can't compare it to the reason why like twilight
