Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

Why do people actually like Twilight?

C'mon everybody I don't want reasons like:

OMG Edward/Jacob is so hot!
Bella is sooooo cool!
The plot is sooooo easy to understand(in other words plain boring)

But really guys, I always wondered, why do you all like Twilight? What is so good about a creepy stalker that sparkles...not to mention Bella is a whiny bitch!

Be realistic, and don't get mad at me for hating it..I just want to know what is so good about it?

I honestly have no clue lol I guess because of the "romance" and maybe the characters *shrugs*

Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Answers

No worries. You most likely won't get any answers like that.

I like it becuase of its relateability. Not to Bella, but to the series as a whole. Many people will say it's unrelateable, but through some crazy series of miraculous events, I happen to somehow relate to it a lot..
I see a lot more to the story of Twilight other than a girl and some vampires with some wolves, so I don’t need any vampires or wolves in my life to relate.

This does not then that the characters are my rolemodels. This does not mean that Twilight has taught me any life lessons either. I do not want to be taught life lessons. I just want something to relate to.
You guys know nothing about my life and I don’t want you to, so I can’t get into the necessary detail to help you fully understand.
To move past what it is I need to recover from, I don’t need some book to tell me how I should live or to guide me to the needed result. I first need to find that I am not aloneand Twilight has done this in many was I couldn’t even imagine. It’s helped me sort out various things about myself and help me understand things I didn’t before. It’s also helped me learn thing about myself I wasn’t even aware of.

There are various minor details that I relate to in a sentimental way, in addition to the big story.
The contemporary vibe of the Cullen home
Carlisle’s career
Carlisle’s relationship with people
Bella’s schooling
Taste in music
Taste in reading materials
Taste in clothing
Certain abilities some of the vampires have
Hair
Lifespans

I admire Edward’s values a great deal. This is the main thing.
I admire Carlisle’s strength a great deal.

It’s all sentimental for me.
I don't appreciate when people tell me that I shouldn't like it becuase my reasons aren't good enough for them. My reasons are my own reasons. I like Twilight for myself. I'm not liking it for somebody else.

I totally get you! People look at me like I have a bird on my head when I explain why I like twilight. My reasons are here too, and they're completely different, but I get you. Good comment, and briliant reasons. I do want to be taught live lessons, but that doesn't say my reasons suck. I love yours.

What the heck is she(?) going on about? Is it bad that I didn't understand a word she(?) said?

stipidtwihard, you should respect other people's reasons. I'm in high school too, and cassie isn't ''some kid''. Cassie has better reasons than most other. What are your reasons? Because jacob is hot?

Twilight changed my way of looking at things. Sure... It's not real, but the book made me look at my oppinion. My whole life would be different if it wasn't writen. I'm not one of those Twilight fans who only care about how hot Robert Pattinson is. The book changed me, not the movie. The twilight serie is a wonderful life-lesson wraped in a beautiful storie. I'm glad Miss. Meyer wrote it. These are my main reasons:

I like twilight because of the storyline, the sentences and the actions.
When I read twilight, i think of my choises, and what I would do. I think of how I show my loved ones that I love them, and I think about what I would do for true love.
When I read New Moon, I think about what I would do for the people i truly love. And I realize, that I would hurt myself. I would do everything for them. I know that I would make sure they are happy, and if that's by making myself ripped apart, I would happily be ripped. I would match them to my enemies, if that's the way to make them feel love, without being hurt.
When I read eclipse, I imagen how it would be to be on the same front as my enemy, and I have desited, that it doesn't matter. As long as being on that front, would make sure my loved one is save, I would go through eveything, see them kiss in every possible way, just to make sure she won't get hurt.
When I read Breaking Dawn, I realize, ones again, That I would happily live through every pain people can imagen, to love my loved ones. When that means that my ribs are broken, my lungs half beaten and my stumach ripped apart, I would be glad. That means I'm still alive to see my loved ones. I would welcome death, if it saved my family.
The whole sage, makes me think about life, and how less I care about my own. I think, and I know, that, as long my loved ones are still alive, I would walk straight in the arms of death.

It makes me look at my live because I imagen myself in her live. When I do that, I see the things I do wrong. I see what I should, and would, do for everybody around me. Bella is quite selfish. When I read Eclipse for the first time, I realized I am too. I wás quite selfish. Now, I ask my family and friends to tell me when I go that way again. It helps. I'm not that selfish anymore. A lot of Bella's bad things I have to. When I read her mistakes, I see what I can do to don't make them myself.

Well, yeah you can say you'd die for your loved ones and the rest...but when it comes down to actually dieing, or hurting ourselves, I doubt hardly any of us would actually be as willing to do it as you say. But nice reasons, much better than the genral pathetic attemps to defend Twilight.

Some people like the general story, the romance, the characters, Smeyer's writing style. Some people can relate to the characters, or like the messages (there are actually some good messages in Twilight).

Remember I'm a guy

I don't mind romance. I'm not the most typical guys that needs action and killing to be satisfied. I don't like violence. Twilight had some action, and it was enough for me.
I liked all the characters for their smarts and choices.
I think Edward is a good example of how a man should act. He shouldn't be so controlling, but he should stand up to a girl sometimes and say what's on his mind too. Avoiding confrontation is what causes everything to go wrong with a lot of couples.

Question no.1: Why did you find the characters intriguing? (I liked the history of Carlisle and Esme)

2. Well written, it had excitement, romance, action, betrayal, (Princess Bride flashback moment yet again), it was an interesting idea, fantasy meets reality, yet written in a way that wasn't totally far-fetched (as in horribly).

I used to like it because it was a bit of an escape from my everyday life (which was not really great at that time) Most of it was, I read them because my friends kept bugging me too, I got caught up it the hype of it all. It seemed adventurous enough, but after a while I was disappointed by the unchanging characters, decisions made by them, not to mention plot holes I came across (I cannot remember exactly what they were now...) That's most of why I liked them, or used to, at least.

I think for me (when I loved it) was because it was a romance story and some of the characters like the Cullens (minus Edward and Bella), Seth Clearwater, and Charlie. I also like the Nomad group (:

It was probably deleted because you called everyone stupid liars. This is a little better, I guess, but please realize that Harry Potter fans are not above or smarter than Twilight fans, or vise versa. Each person is an individual who deserves just as much respect as you do.
