Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

Stereotyping...

Okay, I don't know about you guys, but isn't anyone else sick of the generalization?
These days if someone's pissed at a certain fan/fanbase, they generalize. For example, people always talk about how stuck-up a certain fanbase is, or how stupid. But they always seem to forget...not all of us are like that. I'll repeat: Not. All. Of us. Are. Like. That.
I'm personally an HP fan myself, and many a time I've seen Twihards or even other Potheads that we get angry too easily or we call people names. Um, I don't know about you, but I don't call people names (unless the user deserves it).
So please people, don't generalize and/or stereotype. Be specific, don't be afraid. This is the internet, you can't get in too serious trouble (unless you resort to name-calling...which I don't reccommend). If you're pissed off at a certain person/s, then by all means say it out loud. Because it's simply not fair to the people who haven't done anything to deserve stereotyping

i don't see that problem here
And of course you're not rude and you don't resort to name calling if you edit it out later. you still did it. editing doesn't mean you didn't

Okay, I gave in once. I happen to give in and swear once in awhile. I'll admit it, but doesn't everybody?

I never said I'm not rude btw...I can be rude, I just don't resort to name-calling and mocking every chance I get...

Of course, there are also the people who say "Not all of them are horrible, but most of them are" and pretend that's not a generalization, so I don't know.

The stereotyping has died down some. For the most part, users do seem to call out the specific users they have a problem with. They do realize that not all members of a certain fandom are all the same. Occasionally we'll get the user who says every member of the Twi and/or HP fandom are all one way, but they don't seem to be the norm.

I do agree though: stereotyping is wrong and unfair.

Like I said, occasionally we'll get the odd user who does it, but it's nothing like it was when I first joined in June.
