What do you think started this riot over which book is better? The superiority and complexity of the plot, the quality of characters or the depth of the situations written?

What I think that started this was that on one of the Twilight books, someone said: "Move over, Harry Potter!" That offended many people so the huge feud started. That and RobPattz got casted in both movies.

The media really started it - between the quote "Move over Harry Potter!" and constantly shoving the series down everybody's throat.

Media, for sure. In all honesty, you can't compare them fairly. They're just two bestseller series with devoted fans. That being said, HP FTW!
