Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

I have a challenge for both Harry Potter fans and Twilight fans!

Harry Potter fans- pick a character from Twilight that you hate the most and say one good thing about him/her/it. ('It' being Renesmee.) xD THEN, pick a character from Harry Potter you absolutely LOVE and say something bad about him/her. (Since there are no 'it's in Harry Potter.)

Twilight fans- pick a character from Harry Potter that you hate the most and say one good thing about him/her. THEN, pick a character from Twilight an say something bad about him/her/it.

Then, I would like Harry Potter fans to state one thing they would change if they had written the HP books. And I would like the Twilight fans to state one thing they would change if they had written the Twilight books. =)

I'm a Harry Potter fan- and the character I hate the most in Twilight is mmm Bella.
The one thing GOOD about Bella is that she would sacrifice herself for Edward. Even though I hate her and think she's very selfish, I admit that she would die for Edward... and I guess that's the only good thing about her. She would sacrifice herself for the person she loves/lusts- whatever.
Umm, I LOVE Draco in Harry Potter, and saying something bad about him isn't very hard. LOL. He's the 'bitch' of the school and he's just extremely 'bitchy.' =P
And if I had written the Harry Potter books, I wouldn't have put in the epilogue. =) That's the only thing- because I wasn't pleased with the epilogue much!

Now, NO abusive language- none! And be nice. =)

I will also add that a sorta good thing about Twilight is that it got more people into reading, even if it can barely pass for literature, and SOME of it's readers CAN be idiots.

I think the reason JKR killed Fred was because she wanted to kill off a person who was loved by EVERYONE, therefore adding more emotion to the books. She killed of Lupin and Tonks, two very good characters, but they didn't have the same appeal the teenage twins had. Their jokes, and their laughs made the books comic- and when such a fun prankster died, it was a shock and emotional blow to everyone. So, even though Fred Weasley was one of my favorite characters, I never regretted him dying- it made the books more emotional and realistic. :)

I remember seeing an interview that she killed off Fred because in the 5th book Arthur was going to die from the snake bite, but she couldn't bring herself from killing off the head of the Weasley's so she made up for it by killing Fred so at least one Weasley died. ):

It still sucks. But hey, maybe if Arthur died the twins would've lost their sense of humor! O_O but its like peanut butter without jelly. My friend told me Jo always knew Fred was going to die somehow.

The character I absolutely adore in HP is Remus Lupin but his problem is that he didn't want to face his role as a father (well... at the beginning).
And if I had written the HP books... I'm not sure what I would have changed =S

^ Having Neville and Luna get together would be the other thing I would change haha :) They always seemed like a cute couple, even if there wasn't any romantic hints towards their pairing in the books...

The one thing I would change about Twilight is some of Renesmee's traits. Instead of having a child that grows to be eighteen-years-old in seven years and having her speak just days after her birth, I'd have her be closer to a human baby. I don't know why though....

Thank you, Kariproof :) luv_warriorcatz, I'm more between disliking her and just not liking some of her traits. The way she seemed to gloat about her intelligence in the first book annoyed me. She just came off as smug to me.

yeah I agree with the Sirius thing. In the OoTP movie he says to Harry right before he dies when their dueling the Death Eater's "Nice one James!". It may have been in the book too but I read that a looonng time ago

My favorite character is actually Snape, but I think it's so easy to say something bad about him, so I'll do my second favorite, Ron, as well. Obviously, Snape abuses his power as teacher. Ron, often times lets himself be overshadowed by his family and friends. If he applied himself, he could stand out just as much as his brothers.

One thing I would change about the Harry Potter series is the Deathly Hallows. I mean, they were interesting, but besides the Elder Wand, they didn't really add much to the plot. JK could have done it so different.

he was. And I think killing Lupin was to close the era of the marauders. It was to add emotion on Harry so he goes in the forest, and his wife, the nd only beloved Tonks, dies too... You see my point. I hope thye show death scenes in the encyclopedia. In the book no because the shock was necesary to push Harry, but i'd like to know who killed him so I can go sucker-punch him.

My favorite character in Harry Potter would be Dumbledore. As a young man, he was powerhungry, and wanted to supress muggles. Even as he got older, he was still selfish in some ways.

Edward is my favourite character (I Love him) but I would have to say that the one thing I don't like about him is that at times he is too over protective, and that he could losen up a bit when Bella was a human (But I think that if Stephenie did another book, that we would see him having fun and all that).

If I did write Twilight I would have made it that there was no jacob in it (I can't stand him) or if he was in it, he would either die or it would be like Stephenie's New Moon out take which I liked a lot better. I also might have changed it so that there was a fight in the end of Breaking Dawn (But made sure that the Cullens survived).

Im a Harry Potter fan..

I like Bella sometimes, specially when she told Edward: "If you're talking about my soul, take it. I dont want it without you.."

There are just times that I say "aww.." but it'll fade the minute after..:) *tries to be nice*

EDIT: My fave character is Severus Snape.. I hate it when he gets so unreasonable at times.. O maybe not unreasonable... I just hate it when he never explained why he does things.. (the werewolf essay, the shrieking shack w/ Remus and Sirius, when he didnt let Harry into the Headmaster's Study to call Dumbledore (GoF)..things like that..)


And I would like to change the Epilogue.. The way Harry named his kids.. its a bit cliche for me except for Albus Severus, though.. ^^

I like Albus Severus. Much more amazing than Renesmee, because Dumbledore and Snape did many significant things in Harry's life.

Yea I know, but I am not actually writing it. If I was, I wud have re-read what was already written and made sure ervything wud work out. So, in the end, I probably wudnt hav made him come bak to life or anything, I just really loved his character. :D

I love Bellatrix so much; I think one bad thing about her is that she died. :( That should not have happened. :D But I'm glad it did because Molly is rather awesome too. So yeah, I'm contradicting myself all the way.

If I wrote the Harry Potter books, I would have made Snarry happen big-time. I'm a big fan of that. :) So the relationships would have differed (Dramione, duh). :) But the epilogue I found good, actually. It was a nice cute ending to everything, I guess. <3

Hey, the whole point of this 'challenge' was to accept flaws about your best character. I see you failed to do that- even though Alice has many flaws. No one is perfect.

I would say that Severus wouldn't die in my version of HP, but I don't think he did, so... *Juts out chin* I would have at least let one of Teddy's parents live. How tragic that they both died...

I always thought that it was weird that in the books, Bella says that she was neck-to-neck with Jacob in Renesmee's thoughts. Doesn't that mean Renesmee liked Jacob more than her own father? I was a bit disturbed by the fact that even when Bella has a child, SM can't actually show the love children have for their parents. She chose Jacob over her own father... I agree with the thing about Snape, but I always thought he had a justification. I mean, Harry was so much like james- he looked and behaved almost exactly like him. The difference was, Harry didn't pick on people like James did. But, Snape did love Lily, and it must have been hard to see the proof that she had been someone else's walking around in Hogwarts, every day in front of Snape's eyes. =/

Just picking some stuff because I had to. ^^ Yes, I will admit this many times over: Twilight had so, so much potential. These books could have been absolutely phenomenal, and SM had so much material to work with. I personally think she blew it entirely, and it's disappointing. So...the parent/child relationship thing was one of many ideals that she could have made very sweet and heartfelt. But oh well...too late now. I realize that Severus had good reasoning to hate Harry after all that spit happened. It just wasn't very mature of him, or fair to Harry. But hey, character flaws. :D

I was so sad when Harry saw Tonks and Remus with the dead in the great hall. But I think it's nice. The end of the war and Teddy is left just like Harry was. But it was like JK Rowling showing how the world changed, because Teddy grows up differently without parents in a loving environment. If that makes ANY sense at all.

I hated the canon ships so I would have changed them, and I would love to re-write the epilogue

OK. (One of) my favorite Characters in HP is Hermione. Something bad about her. Especially in the first books she's bossy and keeps to the rules too much. And kept silent when being harrassed (like Draco calling her Mudblood). But she lightens up. (OK. And rereading that... it's more like necessary character development and being level headed which is a good trait... but I had to do SOMETHING!)

What I'd change about Harry Potter? Some people may flip for this. But it'd be cool to have a "what if" companion even, to show how Deathly Hallows would've been if Harry died. I seriously want to know how it would be and I think I may have killed Harry off. I really want to know how badly I would've cried. How it would've been like in the movies etc. But we have the closest thing to it... dying and coming back to life.

Oh. And I'd totally have more Teddy in the books. Just saying.

my favourite characters (i can't pick just one D:) in the harry potter fandom are remus lupin and nymphadora tonks (♥). what i dislike about tonks is that she let remus's rejection get her down (she wasn't able to morph, her patronus changed, ect.) and what i hate about remus is his unwillingness to stay with tonks just because he was "too old.. too poor.. to dangerous."

if i was jkr, i'd make harry surrender in the first place (so his protection could have saved remus and tonks) and i would have made him and voldy die at the same time.

But she is persistant.

I love all the HP characters (even Voldemort, muah-ha-ha) but I'll go with Tonks, I think she needed to grow up a little before getting married and having a baby (but I love you Tonks!)

One thing to change in BD: I want blood at the end, you have no idea how epicly disaointed I was

and in HP: The epilogue was kind of cheesy, I agree, they should've been like, at an Order of th Phoenix or DA reunion or something, the funeral for the dead or whatever. But that's the only thing!
