For Twihards and Antis!!!

Twilight:
1. It can be romantic.
2. It's good entertainment.
3. The characters are relatable.
4. Something to talk about.
5. It can be fun.
6. Some characters seem nicer than Harry Potter ones (eg, Alice and Voldemort)
7. It's educational.
8. It's got more teen girls into reading.
9. It teaches you that love is eternal.
10. Love can be found anywhere.

That was SO hard.

1. Twilight has sparked the interest of writing in teenage girls everywhere.
2. Twilight has sparked the interest of reading in teenage girls everywhere.
3. Twilight has made Forks, Washington rich.
4. I read that Twilight helped a girl see that her boyfriend was abusive, and she dumped him because she didn't want to end up like Bella.
5. I learned a new word: chagrin.
6. There were a couple of characters I didn't mind. There was Seth and Leah.
7. It gives vampires an original twist (sparkling).
8. In New Moon, the Volturi were pretty cool (they were completely and utterly ruined in Breaking Dawn, but that's beside the point).
9. Dakota Fanning is in the movie.
10. Hot Topic made a considerable profit off of Twilight merchandise.

Sheesh, this was hard. I was trying to be honest and uninsulting in my points. I hope I succeeded :P

But Harry Potter is still better :)

Twilight:

1. It brings daughters closer to their mothers.
2. It inspires debate.
3. It tells the epic tale of a girl who found someone who makes her feel special.
4. It shows you don't have to be perfect to be loved.
5. The characters are attractive.
6. It has suspense and danger.
7. It shows young girls how to deal with life-like situations.
8. It revived the love for *cringes* vampires.
9. It inspired other authors to write love stories about vampires.
10. It shows how strong, wonderful, and difficult love can be.

Do you notice that more Harry Potter fans are saying nice stuff about Twilight than Twilight fans are about Harry Potter. HA! That's becuase you can't find any good reasons about HP! GO TWILIGHT!

I've found it completely impossible to write even 5 reasons explaining why Twilight is better. The reason is that I can pull together some weak-ass reasons explaining why it's good, but I know Harry Potter is better at it.

eg. Twilight has romance - Harry Potter's romance is more realistic and much healthier.
Twilight inspires teens to read - Harry Potter inspires people of all ages to read good quality literature.
In Twilight, the use of 1st person PoV helps us get to know Bella in more detail - In Harry Potter, the use of 3rd person limited PoV lets us get to know all the characters much better than any of the characters in Twilight, as most of them are under-developed stereotypes, AND we don't have to put up with Bella's incessant whining and constant descriptions of Edward's incredible beauty.

See what I mean? The only time I could ever think of a point where Twilight actually won, it was in the field of "promotes bad values."

Twilight: I AM an Anti, but I'm going to try this. :) I'm trying for 15, just because I feel like a good challenge right now.

1. Its nice that everyone has a happy ending in the book. Its a nice 'refresher' from all of the emo/depressing books that I've been reading lately.
2. It made Stephenie Meyer a very happy woman. At least, I hope she's happy. :) She's rich, famous and she has a good-sized fanbase. I can't guarantee that it'll last though.
3. Robert Pattison, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner now all have many fans. I'm pretty sure that being in Twilight got them a lot of attention.
4. The romance in Twilight is more in-your-face-obvious than Harry Potter.
5. The covers look cool. All black and emo-y. :D
6. I'm not sure about this, but I'm guessing that Forks, Washington has a lot more tourists coming its way now. Ehehe. XD
7. It inspired many more vampire stories. (Although Vampire Diaries came first...)
8. Hot Topic is earning mountains of money from the sale of Twilight clothes. XD
9. 13-18 year old girls (Sorry, but I personally think that anyone who hasn't taken Family Life Education should NOT read Twilight. Especially Breaking Dawn.) have stuff to talk about in school/wherever.
10. Pale people can now be considered extremely attractive. Honestly, I don't like it, but its better than fake-tanning.
11. Uhh... Blue-eyed blondes are no longer considered "in" if you're a Twilighter? What I mean, is that almost everyone is dark-haired and dark-eyed. :D Break the stereotype people!
12. Spiky, messy hair is "in" for guys? Like Edward's hair? (Sorry. XD I'm kinda running out of ideas.)

Okay *deep breath* gonna try...

Twilight.

1) Has nice monochromatic covers that look attractive on a shelf.
2) Stuff to talk about.
3) Robert Pattinson to faint for. (duh)
4) Jamie Campbell Bower, heard he's gonna play in the movie. and i luv him since Sweeney Todd!
5) Kristen and Rob became a couple. If they're happy together, it's plus for Twilight.
6) It made people integrate. Not that HP didn't.
7) Dakota Fanning!
8) Paramore played.
9) Umm... it made teens read a lot (these are nice big books)? teen girls, actually?
10) It made people invent names (Twi-hard or Twitlight would never get in common use if not that.
11) It has proven some novels shouldn't be over 100 sites long.
12) It made Stephenie Meyer (and the actors from the movies) very rich.
13) It made some people write. Never mind parodies and fanfics. it simply made them more creative then before... some of them. Twilight didn't really change my creativity.
14) Er... some of us became interested in *vampires* and/or werewolves in culture and literature.
15) ... *bursts in tears* it made people like me and other Antis think of these reasons. See? No Twilight, no HP/Twilight spot, no debate.

Okay, that makes 15, folks. for me, it's not better, but these make it ... edible. period.

HP fan here... going for 20 reasons.

1. It's a vampire romance novel. I love that genre, so immediate up for me.

2. It has interesting characters, like Carlisle and Rosalie.

3. You can tell that the Cullens and Wolfpack have a close bond.

4. OK, I'll give Twilight the hot guys factor ( Not talking about R-Pattz. )

5. It is a page turner.

6. The suspense in it is really good. There is little suspense, but it is good.

7. You can tell that Edward is devoted to Bella, and vice-versa.

8. You gotta admit the Cullens have some pretty cool abilities. And they don't need a wand to activate these abilities.

9. Bella gave Renesmee the chance to live, even though it might mean losing her life.

10. It has lovable characters, like Seth and Alice.

11. It gives you an in-depth experience on what Bella's surroundings are like.

12. It captivates readers the first time around.

13. It encouraged more teenage girls to read.

14. It had promise. It could've turned out to be a great book.

15. It has a large and devoted fanbase, just like HP.

16. There's some pretty cool fan-art for Twilight. I found that out when I was a Twilighter.

17. It's inspired some people to write. My friends appreciate literature and writing more, thanks to Twilight.

18. It's easier to tell how Bella feels, because it is in first person.

19. It is easier to put readers in that place, because Forks is a real town.

20. People can relate to some of Bella's experiences, like going to school.


Whew, that was harder than expected.

O-kay, here I go.

12 Buffy made a comeback! (had to put it, but I still gave more then 10 valid ones)

Um I'm a fan of both, but I like Twilight more so I'm going to do hp here.

1. The story has a good plot.
2. It is funny.
3. It is a lovely source of entertainment.
4. The characters are cool.
5. The cast do a better job, as far as movies are concerned. (yes I'll admit that the characters Edward and Bella are portrayed horribly)
6. It is a book that children of any age can read.
7. It is a book that keeps people engrossed. (I'm doing this honestly so I'll admit that two of my friends and my sister for that matter got bored after reading Twilight.........my sister was bored after reading until page five of Twilight)
8. Harry Potter has magic, something I love.
9. Most fans are interested in the books and movies equally. Some Twilight fans like the books more, some like the movies more.
10. Harry Potter's villains were more evil than Twilight's.

There. I'm done. This wasn't so bad. Oh but I still like Twilight more.

HARRY POTTER FOREVER

i'm a harry potter fan, so i guess i have to do toilet.. er, twilight.

1) it got teenage girls to read more. now when i sign onto facebook, and creep a person's books, it'll say something like "i dnt red much, but i luv twilite!!"

2)you can easily relate to bella.. to an extent.

3)their shape shifter wannabe werewolves sound pretty sweet.

4) uh, it uses a lot of big words.

5) it shows that a family can stick together through anything.

6) bella's friendship with jacob is nice.

7) the love is so powerful that bella goes halfway across the world to stop edward from killing himself.

8)the soundtrack for the movies has some alright bands (death cab for cutie, vampire weekend)

that's all i could think of. D: i'm going to go re-read all the harry potters to cleanse my mind.
