I'd be fine with keeping the icon, but I have a very big problem with this banner. Keeping the old versions will be an option in the picks, but maybe we'll find a set that matches better.

Can't we create a forum where people can submit banners? I think that'd be good and it would give everyone a chance to submit, and then we'd vote for the new spot look, so everyone would have a say in it.
