you'll get a number of friends you've invited to fanpop under the little medal thing on your page. however these are not actually props.
the friends you invite have to accept and makeaprofile for you fanpop to recognise you have invited a friend to fanpop.
also, they don't know if you just told someone to join, it has to be done through email through this site.

this is the thing that shows the number of friends invited. this person hasn't invited any friends

I assume you mean the "successfully invited X users" icon at the top of your profile page (just to the right of the number of ratings). Here's how I believe it works:

1) You click "invite a friend" on a particular page and fill out one of the resulting forms (note: there may be bugs with the other forms, the only one that has ever worked for me is sending via e-mail).
2) You submit the form and a very suspicious message that reads exactly like spam is sent to your friends.
3) Your friends must click the link in the e-mail message.
4) Your friends must register for the site during that same browser session.
5) For each person who receives your invitation and registers for the site, you get 1 credit in your "successfully invited X users" tally.

Note that this means the following will NOT give you credit:
* people you tell about the site in your own e-mail
* people you talk to in person about the site
* people who see you wearing a Fanpop T-shirt or sporting other Fanpop merchandise who then go online and register
* people you invited and who accepted your invitation before the "successfully invited X users" feature was implemented (harold sez: "D'oh!")
* people you invited who looked at the site and decided to come back later to register
* people you invited who started to register but then had to restart their browser or computer
* people you invited who cleared their browser cache/cookies before completing registration
* people you invited who looked at the site for a long time before registering (most cookies eventually expire)
* people who read your invitation in one browser/on one computer, but registered using a different browser/computer

All of those could logically be considered people that you got to join Fanpop, but they don't get tracked by the site.

The feature isn't perfect. No software feature is, of course. But following these tips may increase your chances of getting credit for successful invitations:
i) Send a message to your friends in e-mail first, explaining that the invitation is NOT SPAM and asking that they make sure to use the invitation link to register if they're going to register
ii) Use the "invite a friend" feature
iii) Ask your friends to let you know their usernames once they register
iv) Tell your friends your username (it doesn't show up in the invitation) so that they can find and "fan" you once they've registered
v) Send an invitation to a different e-mail address of yours than the one registered with Fanpop. Take that invitation and post it in a note on other social networking sites, if you use them. That way, people following the link from there and then registering may give you credit for expanding the Fanpop community.

Just because you invited them doesn't mean they accepted your invitation. If they did accept it, your little trophy (next to the props) would have a number underneath it, but if they did not accept your invitation, it will still be 0.

i heard- but this was a while back- that something was wonky with the invite tool and that it only showed the count if you were logged on at the time of their acceptance. Im a bit fuzzy on the details tbh..Dr.D mentioned something ages ago.
also i sent myself an invite and saw that it looks pretty spammy- im not sure if you know whether your friend accepted or not!?
If you are having trouble with it maybe use the "contact us" at the bottom of the page and report your problem!?

What do you mean "props"? Do you mean the number on your "invited friends" badge going up? If you mean regular props, It doesn't give you props if you invite a friend, you have to earn props for what you do on fanpop.

u get props for what u do for fanpop. by adding images, quizzes, picks, comments, answers, links, articles (did i forget anything??).
if people like what u have added they will give u props because of the contribution u have made. u dont get it for how many fans u have or how long u have been a member of fanpop.
hope that helps

Your profile says that you haven't invited any friends ie there's 0 under your trophy cup.
So either the people you invited haven't chosen to join Fanpop or the feature is still wonky and no one has gotten your invitations (via email).
Either way, the number under the trophy represents the number offans one's invited NOT a prop (reward) as such.
