How does an article become featured?

How does an article becomes featured in the home page of fanpop? Is it random and made by computer or do the Fanpop 4 chose the articles?


I'm just curious to how that works, and same with how fans become featured:)

but both are automated and not influenced by the f4 unlike the "pop culture" feed which is made by them.
