Fanpop Question

Now that Medals are going to be more important on Fanpop, could someone please explain how they work?

Like how do you get one?

I have three and at first I assumed it was for contributing to the spot but the three I have are not for the spots that I am most active in. So I am a little confused.

It doesn't only rely on how many contributions you make, but also on how people rate it. The more your contribute, the higher chances of you getting a medal. But of course, your content also needs to be popular and rated by other users.

When Fanpop Gold is added to the site, apparently there will be certain things you can do for free (that'd normally cost gold) if you have a certain number of medals, or a medal in that particular spot. More info here: link
