Fanpop Question

Why don't people check before creating a club?

I've seen loads of duplicate clubs, some with even 3 or 4 clubs basically for the same premise. Couple/ship clubs in particular. Why don't people check first?! The portmanteau name, the characters' names both ways (and first name and full names too, maybe), another with the TV programme or film or book series they're from included....

I know, this is half question and half rant.

because sometimes the first club sucks.
There's gonna be that one guy that makes a club, no banner or icon, and just make it sit there. While there's gonna another guy that makes the same club, but with a banner and icon. Which one you rather report, the duplicate or the lame one that was first? I think I rather take the duplicate.
It's not always gonna be that type of circumstances, but I really don't mind adding multiple clubs with the similar premise. Just more fandom to go around.

maybe they don't know how, or maybe they don't care, but is our responsability to report duplicated clubs, that's the only way I know to erase them..

When a duplicate club gets reported, what happens? Is the smaller one just deleted? Or are their contents merged?

As far I know, the smaller gets deleted.

People are inconsiderate. A lot of them already know there's a club for that topic, but want to run the club (putting the icon/banner/motto of their choice) so make it again anyways. And now that the F4 hardly come on fanpop anymore, the duplicates just sit there.
