While your concept, or idea in this case, makes practical sense and would solve problems, the execution of such a plan falls next to impossible.
First off, the F4 would have to toy around with the web design once more, combining the old and the new together and making them available with a press of a button. It wouldn't be easy to make such a thing. Glitches would occur more often.
Second, they don't know how many people are going to want the old or the new layout. It would require some sort of survey just to figure out how much work will need to be put into such an idea.

Like I said, there's nothing wrong with your idea, it's relatively good in my opinion. The execution of it though will prove to be very difficult. By all means, feel free to ask the F4 about the idea and see what they say.

You know at first I felt uncomfortable with this new layout, but it's just a matter of time before everyone gets used to this. It's not worth doing all this mess with the button, we just have to learn to accept the changes.

That would require Fanpop to double their servers. There would have to be two copies of every single page on Fanpop, one for the people with the old layout, and one for the people with the new.
It'd be counterproductive sense they seem to be into saving space. Plus, they's just have to add more ads to keep up with the cost.

That sounds like a lot of work for the F4, but I had another idea similar to that, if I may suggest. What if for, say, 3 days or so, they kept this layout, but then for another 3 days or so they switched back to the old layout and had every member they could get to vote on which one they prefer?

Yes. I don't see why that's a bad idea. Bring back the oldest layout too. XP

i think it's a great idea! i'm in a situation where my mom thinks that i'm on facebook cuz she STILL won't let me have one so that button would be awesome.
