Fanpop Question

"My Icons On 2 Spots Made By The Same User..."

Okay, I don't really know why my icons got deleted in these spots: link | link
Although it's rather fishy that only "my" icons got deleted & only the icons submitted by the 'spot maker' remained. Does anybody know anything about this?

(Another thing, I DIDN'T ASK FOR A CRAZY # OF PEOPLE TO RATE THOSE ICONS)
*
Need more info dude.... What was in the icons that you posted? Did you correctly credit the icons? Had the icons already been added? Were you actually adding icons and not thumbnails? Had you asked any number of people to rate them for you (not necessarily what you would consider a "crazy" number)? Are you adding the right icons in the right spot? For future reference, give us as much information as possible so we can help you quickly and specifically.

Yes, correctly credited icons. I credited "onigiri_iconz@photobucket.com". No, those icons were authentic (come on, the spot only has a few # of active fans). Yes, NOT thumbnails, No, TBH, I "didn't" ask anyone to fan those icons to do a little observation since they got deleted 2 times before. Yes, right icons on the right spot. On the kaede higa spot, I named the icons "Kaede Higa Icon" with his face only showing in the icons. As for the barajou no kiss spot, I uploaded icons that shows different characters. Also, the icons I uploaded in the barajou no kiss spot & the kaede higa spot were different. Like, I didn't upload the kaede higa icons on the barajou no kiss spot (Kaede's a character in Barajou no Kiss".

Well, again, I don't know the specifics, so really there isn't anymore that I can help you with. All I can suggest now is, that if you have exhausted all other options, you use the Contact Us link to contact Fanpop. They might be able to keep an eye on the spot and see if any reports come through.

1) It is possible that the person who made the icons on Photobucket does not want their icons posted here, so reported the icons as copyrighted material. Alternatively, you may not have credited them correctly (according to their own preferences) and so they reported the icons for that reason.

2) Since I have no idea what these spots related to, is it possible that you posted inappropriate content? I've seen a lot of sexually explicit anime images posted on Fanpop that are really not suitable for this kind of club. I dunno if that is a possibility...

3) I would suggest that it is HIGHLY unlikely that the Fanpop staffers would delete your content just because someone reported it. Many of us could tell you numerous tales of reporting offensive items hundreds of times, with detailed notes as to why it should be removed, only to still have it up a year later. The reporting system is flawed, for sure, but whoever is reporting your icons must have a convincing reason as to why they should be removed.
The other thing to note is that just because that person is the prominent user in those spots doesn't mean that they are the ones reporting you.

4) No offense (but I'm sure you will be offended), but I don't think you have the right to complain about the way that that person got a medal in that spot. Your name pops up way too regularly in the extreme ratings category. Not so nice to be on the other side of it, is it? I'm not trying to piss you off or be mean, I'm just saying that maybe now you can see how annoying and disrespectful it is when other people think that they deserve more attention than you in a given spot...

My only advice here is to add the icons again, with as much crediting/keywording information as you can, perhaps leaving a polite comment suggesting that if anyone has an issue with the icons, could they give a reason why. If there is genuinely no reason why those icons are being deleted, then you have a clever and deceptive troll on your hands, but unfortunately, unless they make themselves known, there is little you can do about it.

IF, after you have posted the icons again, they are deleted and you don't know why, you could try messaging Fanpop via the "contact us" link, explaining the issue, perhaps giving a link to this question. Do not expect a response, but they might look into the issue to see what kind of reports are coming in for your content. Do that as a last resort.

In this scenario i would go with option #1. The creator of the icons may have contacted or reported the icons stating they created them and would like them not posted on here.

Thats my first instinct too.

Miscategorized? They were practically appropriate! Hmm, I'll try messaging the user who made the icons on the barajou no kiss spot. I'll try straightening things out here. :S

Someone reported your icons (or several people). The creators/moderators took a look, saw that there was something wrong, and deleted them.

I didn't recieve any report notice. I've been really wondering this since my 1st batch of icons got deleted, "Is there a certain report that won't be shown in the user's (that has been reported) inbox?

^ You only get messages when links/videos/images/picks have been reported as BROKEN. That is because Fanpop expects you to check those links/videos/images/picks for yourself and delete them if they are in fact broken.

Well I am not to sure what to make of this, but I do think you right about the user that maked the spot might have deleted your icons. I would give it ago and upload icons on the spot(s), but the thing is I've never seen the Animes'/Mangas' before.
