What the F$%# happened!?

Dave here. As always with new changes to the site, we were prepared for some negative feedback. We've actually put a lot of thought into these new features based how users use the site and input we've gotten from Fanpoppers. We saw that people started using the props wall as a wall and started giving props out just to comment. That wasn't the purpose for the props. We also saw that a lot of users had been misusing Answers to leave random comments and create discussion rather than properly asking a question. We felt that we needed a better way for fans to express how they felt and have a big ole' conversation easily. This way after an episode or some big news event, people can just quickly and easily post their reactions in a stream of community consciousness and it doesn't get lost in the forums or answers. We're trying to keep Fanpop lively with discussion and allow users to express their passion and thoughts easily with other fans. We're not trying to be any other site, because we know our community is unique and our site is one of a kind. The features that we choose empowers fans to celebrate the things they love. We think the walls are a great and easy way to do that.

If I wanted to be on a site like Facebook I would join Facebook.

Why don't you like the change?

When I joined Fanpop there was no answers section,no Chat,no comment smiles,and there was no more than 15000 people.


But times changed and Fanpop was Changed one Improvement at time,and I didn't mind how it changed to a huge site,after it we were like one big happy family.


It's called Evolution ,people,Get over it.

Just when I was loving this site, it changed into something crappy. Its value just went down a notch.

This really isn't acting like fanpop anymore. They just propley put walls JUST becuz facebook has more ppl on it and just facebook has wall. this better go back to the old fanpop. If it doesn't,Im leaving fanpop and NEVER coming back.

...I just got back on after going to get dinner with my mom about a half hour ago, and suddenly there's a weird-ass text box on my page. You think I like it either? ._.

Actually, it might not be that bad. At first glance, it seemed aweful, but maybe it's the type of thing that just takes a bit to get used to, then you love it.

Why does people always complain when sites gets updated? They wish for a change, but can't stand to be a part of one.

It seems like every website is trying to be like Facebook, YouTube has the "like" buttons and now Fanpop users get walls

I know right!? I want the old Fanpop back! :'( I don't have a Facebook (bc I can't have one lol) but my Mom does and it kinda starting to look like it! I don't like the upgrade, please change Fanpop back to the way it was.

Ikr. I left for like a couple hours, and then I sign on to see all this new wall feature. At first I thought I signed onto Facebook by accident, but then I checked the url...sure enough it's fanpop :S

I'm confused a bit, but it's not the end of the world to me. I'm unsure about it...

i dunno what happened either......i just logged out for a couple of hours and now its this! it got me a little confused @_@

I just got online a few minutes ago and then I tough I was on Facebook or something. I mean like this "wall" thing. WTH? It's more hard to give props now! I'm totally confused. Now Fanpop is like Twitter or Facebook! I think this new change of course it will be hard for all users. But I may get used to it. I'm still loving Fanpop like always. ♥

I love it! I think the change is great. It makes everything... "cooler" looking if you will.

I have read the comments here. I don't get your negative reactions. Did any of you below Dave read what he had to say? It's just a new way of expressing ourselves, that's all. Get used to it and continue to have fun here on unique, wonderful fanpop! :)

i h8 it. it's like facebook and i hate facebook.give us back the fanpop we know and luv.

does anyone know if fanpop officials will listen to our complaints and undo the change?
