What was the fanpop update when our profile updates disappeared? And when did the Bar of doom come around?

I was wondering because i can remeber this happening a while back, and i just can't think for the life of me what the hell happened.

well of course i know that an edit to out updates happened but was it because of the whole filtering your updates part of something else.

and the second questions is pretty much self explanatory.
