Quizzes are kind of a hidden feature right now anyway - y'all planning on putting them back on spot home pages soon?
Also, how would that work? A time limit? Not let you exit the tab or window?
Exactly more power to 'em.
Depending on how the cheat-resistance would take place too. Personally, I'm not in favour of people being able to make questions only for people with medals, or for people to have to spend going on answering them. However, what might work nicely is if that user has to have earned a certain amount of lifetime gold in order to answer them.
Something I mentioned in the "suggestions and ideas" forum a while back (and people have already mentioned it here too) is that quizzes are a neglected part of the site now, in comparison to how popular they were a few years ago, and I was hoping for them to be put back on the main pages of clubs again like they used to be. Glad other people feel that way too. ;)
If quizzes do become a bigger deal again, then maybe there should be some sort of cheat-resistance. But in a way that doesn't promote unfairness:
Needing medals to answer - no because the quiz leaderboards should surely be based on users' knowledge of the subject rather than whether or not they've earned a medal in that spot.
Costing gold to answer - again no for pretty much the same reason.
Amount of lifetime gold - yes because it's more likely they're answering from a legitimate account.
But even though I've voted against everyone else who's commented here so far, I do still agree with some of what's been said; I think this is low priority compared to other upcoming features that I am much more looking forward to, and if cheat-resistance is to be put into place, it'd be more necessary if the quizzes themselves were not so hidden and got more attention.
So yeah. I like the idea, but first I think users need to be more aware of the existence of quizzes.
