"He knew he was being used at the time and was in complete control of his actions." False. He thought he was the mastermind and Ultear was his subordinate when it was the other way around.
"Erza can't be with the man who killed her friend, that goes against everything Erza embodies." She's already forgiven him, and he's doing everything in his power to atone for his sins, even offering her to kill him to avenge Simon. She still loves him and wants to be with him, judging from her eagerness to kiss him.
"She deserve better and the only one who is better is Gray." Why Gray? For an argument that is supposedly about Grayza, you offer absolutely zero reasons why these two should be together. They're friends, cool. Natsu and Erza are friends. Lucy and Erza are friends. Wendy and Erza are friends. Mirajane and Erza are friends. What's so special about Gray and Erza's relationship that sets him apart from Erza's other friends?
"For the past 8 years (not including the seven they were sealed away) they've seen each other three times." And they're still the most hinted pairing out of the ships that aren't officially "canon" yet. Gray and Erza are in every single panel together and their romantic development has been zero so far. Quality > quantity.
"He only knows her last name and that she looks pretty." Who was the person who endured slavery along with Erza in the Tower of Heaven? Who was the person who saw Erza's weakness as well as strength, the side that she later hides from everyone else? Certainly not Gray, he didn't know Erza back then.
"she associates his name with evil." Past tense, she doesn't do that anymore. We acknowledge that character development is a thing that exists, and the characters we see right now aren't the same ones from the Tower of Heaven arc. Both Jellal and Erza have changed a lot since then, and if you can't see that, then you're just selectively reading to suit your Grayza fantasies.
Basically this was an anti-Jerza argument rather than a Grayza argument. If you have to tear another ship down to make yours look better, you're probably doing it wrong.
^ Listen home girl Jellal is good now yes. However, I can give you plenty of reasons why gray and Erza are more canon. They have several scenes where you can tell there is tension between them, Mashima said himself that they are more than friends. Gray is just very shy about his feelings but you can tell from they way he reacts to her, the way he looks at her, that he has feelings for her. Jellal knew her as a child, everyone is weak as a child. Gray also saw her weakness and strength as a child that's how they became friends. He was the one who comforted her after Jellal hurt her feelings.
Jellal knows nothing about her now that she is an adult. A ten year old girl is not the same person as a 20 year old woman. He doesn't know any of her likes or loves, he doesn't know her fears or her convictions. He simply knows her strength and things that everyone already knows, nothing like gray.
You can't think that Erza, the strongest and greatest, the most amazing female character in the show, would have sex with a convicted murderer, what's wrong with you. That is sick and disgusting. Regardless of forgiveness, he took someone from her life, someone she'll never see again and he just gets to slip inside her like it's love. No that's not love, that's why Hiro isn't going to pair these two together, it's a bad example for girls and it ruins the character of Erza.
Think about it rationally. Erza deserves better. She deserves the boy who gives her sweet smiles then blushes when she looks at him. She deserves the man who fears for life when Erza is in trouble. They are so much more canon simply but looking at the writing and the pictures. It's Natsu, Lucy, Erza, and Gray. No disrepescet for Jellal, but it's absurd to think he should be with Erza.
You didn't counter any of my arguments, instead repeating "oh em gee Jellal is a convicted murderer Erza deserves better" like a broken record. And you still didn't give me reasons why Gray/Erza makes a better pairing, just vague references. Honestly, if Mashima wanted them together, don't you think it would have been Gray there with Erza after her torture episode at the end of Tartaros? Instead it was Jellal popping out of nowhere offering comfort and encouragement, while Gray was busy planting his face into Juvia's breasts elsewhere.
"alies but not lovers" lmao. If Jellal is really that disgusting, you should argue that she'd be better off cutting him off from her life completely, and yet here you are, only opposed to them being lovers. Clearly Erza's well-being isn't your top priority here.
