Courtney's POV:

I was standing in the cold, where he left me. Just standing, as if he would come back, as he was walking away under the bridge. I nearly almost started running after him. The rain was pouring cold, as if it was about to turn into ice at any moment.

He was always there, now he's going to just run off without a word other than, "Sorry"? Not like Duncan. At all.

You were always there for me

I should have started heading for the hills, going home to cry, instead of freezing in the sleet. Canadian sleet is different than other kinds, it's more harsh, and can be basically lethal if you're out there too long.

I started to walk forward, at a reasonable pace, the way Duncan walked. He was thankfully still in sight. It was like he was my light out of this dark tunnel.

Duncan's POV:

I went for my motorcycle, kind of hard when I can't see in this rain-and-ice mix. I forgot the name of it.

I was walking out of the bridge-tunnel thing, and I found my motorcycle, just to see her coming out of it with me.

She came back...

Courtney's POV:

It was as if he was almost relieved to see me coming for him. When he had just left me he was relieved of all things?

I stopped as he got on his motorcycle and he turned it on, turned it so the light hit me, and I put my hand over my eyes as a reflex; I sighed then headed slowly over to him.

I don't want to be with you

He said, almost evilly, "So, Princess comes back?"

I say, "Only because her ogre confused her."

He smirked, for the first time that night, then said, "Well then, maybe my reasons need to be kept secret."

"I'm not saying I want you back in my life, I just want an explanation, is that so wrong?"

"Not at all, but the explanation won't be to your liking."

He started heading to me, he closed all space between us, and said, "I left because I love you. You don't deserve me breaking your heart." And yet, as he says that, he brushes his lips against mine, then kisses me.

Not this time

You broke me ten times over already

I push back, almost immediately, and say, "What was that? You say you don't wanna break me, then you're all over me?"

He stepped back as if he just realized what he had done, "Courtney, I..."

Duncan's POV:

Words just failed me. I wanted to tell her that I just wanted one more kiss, before I gave up for good. But words don't describe how wrong that sounds.

Nothing describes how I feel about her! And yet I want to leave her? That even flabbergasts me! And how I even know the word flabbergast flabbergasts me!

If I could do anything in my life over, it wouldn't be when I let my brothers send me to juvie, it wouldn't be when I dyed my hair, it wouldn't be when I said I was man enough to get multiple piercings, if I could do anything over in my life it'd be what I told Courtney.

I never want to leave her.

I'm such a mush.

No, seriously, KILL ME FOR IT. If you don't this sleet will, she said, "You?..."

"Well, you are selfish, so tell me."

I sighed, "I regret saying what I said, I regret leaving you even though I did it ten minutes ago! I regret it! i regret what I did with Gwen, Kayla, Margret, Margeaux, and Casey; not to mention what I did to you."

"Duncan, you cheated on me with how many girls?"

"That is not the point! The point is is that I love you, and I want to be with you!"

"I wanna be with you too, but you broke me so many times! Twice in one night now!"

"I'll make it up to you, I swear." And I knew she believed me.
