"But why?" I scowled. "I can take care of myself"

"Listen, sweetheart, that killer is still lurking about. They're probably after me next. And if they, God forbid, do manage to get me, then I want you protected from the monster that killed your mother" my father held a stony expression.

"Don't talk like that, Daddy" I said, tears beginning to form in my eyes.

"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" a woman, who was probably the same age as what my mother would be, walked in.

A moody looking punk, the same age as me, trailed in behind her.

"Ma, why am I here?" he grumbled.

"You know why" she repeated what my father had said to me.

"Come with me, Julie, Mr Renez" Officer Steele beckoned the two aforementioned adults to follow him.

Her and my father followed Officer Steele into another --presumably his-- office, and closed the heavy, oak door.

"So, what're ya here for Princess?" the punk smirked at me.

"Princess? Excuse me, I don't associate with strangers"

"Touchy" he smirked.

"What?" I scowled.
