"Courtney!" A familiar voice screeched. I rolled over and soon found myself on the floor. I cursed under my breath and rubbed my eyes. "What..?" I mumbled. My vision soon got better and I looked up at Gwen.
I scowled.
"What..?!" I repeated more annoyed. She rolled her eyes and motioned over to the family of hungry bird people.
I sighed and got up slowly,"Why couldn't you atleast cook for me Gwen.? I'm tired too ya know.." I walked up to the kitchen and opened the fridge; Leaning into the cold food storage.
"This looks... Good.." I grabbed the eggs and bacon and fired up the stove.
"Want some help?" a smooth voice said. I cocked my head lightly to the left and saw Duncan. "Uh.... Sure..." he grabbed the package of cold bacon and started placing a strip of bacon on the pan.
I smiled slightly to myself and felt heat rise upon my cheeks again. 'Courtney... Stop..' I thought to myself. I shook my head slightly and concentrated on feeding my family.
I took on whiff and smiled proudly. "Breakfast is ready!" I sang. They all cheered and eyed me coming with 2 plates of food. I laughed and placed the 2 plates on the wooden table.
"Damn Courtney! This is great!" Geoff said, stuffing his face with eggs.
"I didn't do all the work. Duncan helped a little too.." I blushed. Bridgette rolled her eyes and continued to eat.
There was soon a light knock at the door.
I walked slowly; tucking my wings tighter into my back. I motioned for the others to do the same.
I opened the door and saw it was only Chris. I sighed a brethren of relief and let him in gradually.
"Hey,Kids!" He greeted.
"Hey..." They all mumbled at the same time; Except for Duncan.. Not a suprise.
"Listen, I hear they need some help up in Africa; Feesing the children... Wanna commit some hero work?" It sounded great. I mean we have been trying to make us look like heroes instead of monsters.
"Sure!" I accepted. Everyone's eyes soon Glared at me; Duncan just nodded agreeing with me.
"Great! Well, Meet me up in the common's at midnight. We will have to be there extra early." He said and left.
I smiled and looked over at the family. Their eyes were still set into glares. "Okay... What is it now?" I scowled.
Bridgette stood up and folde her arms across her chest. "You're making all the descisions, Its not fair." She growled slightly.
"But... It's for a good cause! Besides we need this Bridge! We've been working our butts off to show 'them' we were the good guys." I defended myself.
Gwen soon stood up. "Lets vote.... Who wants to go to Africa? Or.... Party?" She smirked at me.
"I for one... Vote to go to Africa." Trent said,backing me up. I smiled proudly. "Africa." Duncan mumbled.
"Africa."
"Africa.." Bridgette sighed.
Gwen scowled and followed along with the plan.

"Chris! We're here..." I whispered. We slipped through put usual meeting spot and saw Chris waiting patiently. "Good, Now let's go. Do you have the stuff you need?" We all nodded. We brought Toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and some... Toiletries....
"Okay, Well I'll be taking a plane. You... Just do what you do best.." He smiled.
I nodded and motioned them to Follow me to the roof.
"Okay guys. Get ready.." I spread my white wings out and set them in place. "Now." I ordered. They all let their wings be free and dropped themselves into thin air.
I noticed Bridgette had a close fall, I flew to her quickly and grabbed her. "Are you okay..?!" I asked.
She nodded. "Yeah, Just a bad start. Let go." I dis as I was told and let go. She was pulled into a graceful start and flew next to Geoff.
I sighed, and took a deep breath. I was still tired from yesterday. A dark figure flew next to me, My breathing almost stopped by how fast it was. I looked to the right and saw Duncan smirking.
"Hey." He smiled crookedly. I gasped, I felt my onyx eyes wide with suprise. "U..uh... Hey.." I said unsteady.
He chuckled lightly. "Do you mind if I fly with you? Gwen is getting annoying..." He scowled. I nodded and felt a tinge of jealousy in the center of my throat.
"So.... Ab-"
"Look, I need to concentrate on our surroundings okay? I can't be distracte-"
"I distract you..?" I could see him smirking.
I slightly groaned. The mysterious Duncan was getting annoying. "Uh... No, Its just..." I started.
"Its just me.." He finished, looking down. I sighed and apologized for my ignorance. We started talking and we were getting along just great.... Sometimes...
"We're here.." I said as I was looking down, I could tell by the old shacks and nothing but dry air. "Finally.." Gwen said, relieved.

it was so shocking,and so unexpected.
All of a sudden,a care drove right threw the wall,where Duncan and Courtney were standing.
Duncan pushed courtney out of the way,so she was safe.
Then,a guy got out of the car.
He had a gun in his hand.
"nobody move!"he screamed.
"Hey!you cant tell us what to do!"courtney yelled.
"Another word and i shoot you!"yelled the man.
"Hey,you cant talk to my girl like that!"duncan yelled.
"ill shoot you too!"he yelled.
Finally,Duncan knocked the gun out of his hand,and the two began to fight.
About 5 minutes later,the man was taken to jail,
and everynoe was called out of the bar so it can be be repaired.
"Are you ok,duncan?"courtney asked.
"Yeah,im fine,princess,"he answered,kinda weeak.
But,that was the leat of their troubles
They didnt what courtney's parents would do to them.."
